Department Summary:

Position Summary:

Knowledgeable and experienced with Six Sigma/Lean tools certification preferred.

Proven ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.

Position:
• The Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager reports to the Director of Strategic Sourcing and is responsible for leading the execution of procurement activities in the functional areas of procurement strategy, strategic sourcing and contract development for their assigned Business Units. Responsibilities: 
• Strategic Oversight

Leads the strategic procurement plan for their assigned Business Unit(s) or categories by translating requirements into a set of implementable and measurable plans and targets

Sets the direction of business requirements, spend analysis, sourcing strategy development and management, contract management, compliance, vendor management, commercial risk management and procurement methods for their assigned Business Unit(s)

Coordinates engagement of appropriate risk stakeholders as identified through the Inherent Risk Questionnaire

5-7 years of experience in a sourcing or category management role 

Proven experience with end-to-end RFx and competitive bidding process

Advanced negotiation skills and experience with high dollar, high complexity supplier negotiations

Expert knowledge on developing and interpreting spend and market analysis

Ability to influence and manage senior to executive level stakeholders using advanced negotiation, facilitation and mediation skills

Excellent communication skills and time-management

Experience with procurement tools such as Ivalua, SAP Ariba, DocuSign and S2P platforms

The Role

We are currently looking for a Director, Compensation to join our IGM Human Resources department reporting to the VP, Compensation.  This role can be located in Toronto, Winnipeg or Montreal.

Within the Human Resources Department of IGM, the Compensation team supports the company and its business units to attract, engage, and retain top talent by ensuring competitive compensation packages are offered and excellence in performance is rewarded. The team has overall responsibility for the design, implementation, and administration of all corporate and specialized incentive compensation programs at Mackenzie Investments.

As a valued member of the Compensation team your core responsibilities will include:
 

Overall Compensation Consultation for the Asset Management Business:

Provide expert advice to HR Business Partners on compensation decisions and impacts related to the Asset Management business

Work with the compensation team on corporate compensation matters e.g. salary structure, year end annual compensation cycle

Special Compensation Program Management:

Lead the development and design of IGM’s sales compensation programs supporting the Asset Management businesses. You will:

Work closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders in understanding the strategic priorities and financial impacts of the compensation plans

Provide innovative and effective compensation solutions that drive the right behaviours of the sales and investment management team and achieve success in key business metrics

Provide SME advice and counsel in managing the compensation plans on an ongoing basis

 

Responsible for the implementation and administration of the sales compensation plans including:

Lead a team of compensation professionals that manage the execution of the specialized incentive plans

Working with key business stakeholders including senior leaders, investment management team and the sales team in the management of the compensation plans including regular communication, reporting, and analysis

Manage the partnership with key stakeholders in the calculation process including members of the Compensation, Finance and Sales Analytics teams to ensure the commissions are managed within a timely, accurate and efficient process

Manage the partnership with technology in the continued development and improvement of the Specialized Incentive Plan Tool which is the system that calculates, reports and forecasts incentives for the Investment Management business line.
 

The following qualifications are required of the successful candidate:

7-10 years of progressive/relevant business experience in employee compensation

University degree in business administration or related disciplines and Compensation Professional Discipline is preferred

Strong analytical and numeric skills with the ability to interpret and communicate the data effectively

Demonstrated experience with compensation principles and concepts, including knowledge of job evaluation, pay structure, variable pay experience, pay equity legislation, annual merit budgeting, and the use of competitive pay analysis

Proactive leader with proven decision-making skills and the ability to manage expectations effectively to successfully achieve multiple, competing priorities

Proven experience working with business leaders and senior professionals

The ability to produce high quality work under time pressure and to work as part of a team
