STO-RE 21R – Senior Resource Technologist – (95090)

An eligibility list may be established for future permanent and temporary opportunities.

You are committed to excellence in sustainable forest management

In this position you will provide senior technical advisory services to the forest stewardship program area in the natural resource sector. You will act as a technical advisor and specialist in one or more of the following program areas; forest health, the Forest and Range Evaluation Program (FREP), Silviculture, Reporting Silviculture Updates and Land status Tracking System (RESULTS), silviculture prescriptions and stocking standard amendments, land and water referrals, Fire Management and the Land Base Investment Strategy. This position may also support other program areas within the District office on an as needed basis.

There are two (2) vacancies available: one (1) in Chilliwack and one (1) in Powell River.
An eligibility list may be established for similar vacancies within the BC Timber Sales Chinook Business Area, Chilliwack, Powell River, Daajing Giids, Squamish

PK AST 06R – Recreation Crew Member – (96498)

The Recreation Crew Members will be distributed across three teams, based out of Cranbrook, Nelson, and Revelstoke. Crews will travel to the far reaches of their recreation district and may travel to neighbouring districts for projects; therefore, you must be willing to work up to a 10-hour day and be willing to overnight in remote locations for some projects.  Work days will be Monday to Friday, for 70 hours every two-week pay period.

The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) is responsible for managing wildfire response and planning for fire on the landscape to mitigate impacts to communities, values at risk, and encourage sustainable, healthy, and resilient ecosystems.

STO 21R – GIS Analyst – (96399)

BC Timber Sales (BCTS) is an unique program of the Ministry of Forests (MOF). Working collaboratively with regional and district operations, BCTS plans, develops, and auctions a substantial portion of the province’s annual available timber volume. BCTS operates as a for profit entity within a government organization.  Its goal is to provide credible representative price and cost benchmark data for the Market Pricing System through auctions of timber harvested from British Columbia’s public land. BCTS operations are guided by three overarching principles, forest sector safety, reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples and sustainable forest management.

STO-RE 24R – Advisor, First Nations Relations – (96417)

The Ministry of Forests is responsible for the stewardship of provincial Crown land and ensures the sustainable management of forest, wildlife, water and other land-based resources. The Ministry works with Indigenous and rural communities to strengthen and diversify their economies.
