The Regional Hydrologist is an expert in the field of hydrology that understands the dynamics of the West Coast Region’s varied watersheds. They provide expert technical advice and support to regional staff, applicants (and other stakeholders) in the areas of hydrology, and more general advice on in-stream flow assessment, and groundwater-surface water interaction. This position is responsible for assigned statutory duties under the Water Sustainability Act and regulations and will collaborate and work with the public, other ministries, and governments, including First Nations and local governments.

BC Timber Sales (BCTS) manages about 20 per cent of the province’s allowable annual cut for Crown timber, generating economic prosperity for British Columbians through the safe, sustainable development and auction of Crown timber.  BCTS operates in 33 communities and directly supports over 8,000 jobs across B.C.

Data from our operations are used to help determine the market value of the timber harvested from public land and ensures British Columbians receive fair value from their timber resources.

Planning Services is responsible for the development of strategic, multi-model, multi-jurisdictional provincial highway corridor and transportation system plans for the Southern Interior Region (SIR); the co-ordination and management of the Region’s Multi-Year Capital Program; the co-ordination and development of multi-agency and private sector partnerships to deliver highway infrastructure; and the delivery of a wide range of property services.  

The Project Development Analyst is responsible for multi-year programming, project development, and project delivery within the Southern Interior Region. The position manages project evaluations and business cases to develop integrated and justified programs and individual projects.  Considerations include the feasibility of proposed concepts, financial viability, construction partnering, linkages to other programs, timelines, project phasing, regional priority assessment, and other parameters.
