Position

We are currently hiring an intern looking for a summer term position, May to August 2025.  Candidates must be in an undergraduate or graduate program that will be returning to school after the internship to be eligible to apply.
 

Located in our Winnipeg office, the IT Risk team is critical part of Investors Group / Mackenzie Investments (IGM Financial).

Reporting to the Director of IT Risk, the Intern candidate’s core responsibilities will include: 

Creation and maintenance of security-centric documents, policies, standards, rules, and procedures

Write threat intelligence briefs based on security and IT risk event disclosures in the news media, and research impact of newly discovered information security risks

Identify and analyze data to evaluate effectiveness of security controls

Assist Risk Analysts and Advisors to prioritized remediation recommendations

Drive remediation efforts based on the results of security scans across all IT disciplines

Assist in designing effective security controls

Support security and risk education and awareness campaigns to further drive cyber-resilience across the organization using Microsoft Office suite of products

Create re-usable awareness materials and articles for various periodicals and intranet sites

The following qualifications are required of the successful candidate:

Enrolled in a post-secondary education program in a relevant technology discipline or designation/certification, or bring transferable skills and general knowledge of technology

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing and delivering presentations with impact

Proactive and self-motivated with strong attention to detail, problem solving, prioritization and organizational abilities

Demonstrable experience with MS Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, advanced functionality), and PowerPoint

Passion and interest in Technology, IT Risk, and Cyber Security preferred

Proven collaboration and facilitation skills with cross-functional teams

Position:

Reporting to the Director, the Marketing Intern, IG Marketing will engage with a wide variety of stakeholders across Distribution, Product and Marketing teams to contribute to the success of initiatives that engage clients and help advisors deliver on their mandate. This will involve researching and analyzing both third party and client data reports, compiling content for campaigns, and contributing to a playbook initiative that codifies marketing best practices.

 

Major responsibilities include:

Participating in the marketing meetings to gain insight on our strategy on how research and analysis contributes to our success

Managing tactical plans to turn strategic priorities into deliverables, inclusive of content development and stakeholder engagement.

Proposing a playbook format to make best practice marketing approaches easy for advisors to implement to the Director, and working on the prototype of the initial product

Working on the delivery of specific initiatives associated with the client journey (from onboarding through ongoing service to estate services) to improve the client experience

 

Minimum Requirements:

Enrolled in marketing courses

Experience or interest in the financial services / banking industry

Strong interpersonal communications skills, presentation and (copy) writing ability

Good knowledge of and experience digital and email marketing

Good relationship management and communication skills

Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically PowerPoint and Excel

 

Education:

Currently pursuing a University degree or College Diploma with an emphasis on Marketing, Communications or Business Administration
