In this position you will provide senior technical advisory services to the forest stewardship program area in the natural resource sector. You will act as a technical advisor and specialist in one or more of the following program areas; forest health, the Forest and Range Evaluation Program (FREP), Silviculture, Reporting Silviculture Updates and Land status Tracking System (RESULTS), silviculture prescriptions and stocking standard amendments, land and water referrals, Fire Management and the Land Base Investment Strategy. The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) is a unique program of government tasked with the responsibility of preventing and managing wildfire on the landscape. With a workforce of approximately 1600 the program’s staff are dedicated to undertaking the BCWS mandate in delivering effective wildfire management and emergency response support to protect values, while encouraging sustainable, healthy and resilient ecosystems.

Project Manager

This is a great opportunity to join our CGI team in Halifax providing leading IT services to our clients. We are seeking 3 experienced Project Managers who have managed mid-large sized application management and development projects in a complex environment. The successful candidates will ideally have a strong delivery background in the Public Sector, Canada.

In the role of a Project Manager, you would be responsible for the successful delivery of project budget, timeframes and customer satisfaction, enabling new and extension business. You will ensure resourcing is achieved and performance reviews are completed for people assigned to your projects as well as managing client relationship.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Development of project proposals, project charters, and project management plans
• Managing the time and effort of the project team
• Ensuring proper change, scope, risk, and expectation management are applied
• Reporting accurate project financial and profitability figures
• Holding regular status meeting with team and clients and providing regular status reporting
• Playing a lead role in the development of business requirements documentation
• Prepare and present senior client executives

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Experience working with provincial or municipal governments
• Five years or more as a Project Manager
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed written, verbal and presentation skills
• Must be goal oriented, results driven, and client focused
• Strategic and operational business planning
• Governance and organizational design
• Change management and communications
• Undergraduate degree such as Business, Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent
• Project Management training and certification (PMP)

Desirable Skills
• Certified Management Consulting (CMC)
• Change Management training and certification

Must have experience working with Municipal/Provincial governments.
Must have authorization to work in Canada.
Position requires one to be based in Halifax and/or Atlantic Canada.

A critical role in support of the health and protection of quality meat products in BC

As a Meat Hygiene & Agri-food Inspector, you provide inspection services according to provincial policies and procedures to licensed abattoirs and perform ante-mortem and post-mortem inspection of animals, recording observations and ensuring meat handling procedures are observed. You are an effective communicator, able to educate facility operators and staff regarding applicable policies and deal with potential situations of conflict. You will share expertise with new/apprenticing meat inspectors; evaluate livestock management and adherence to best practices for animal welfare; and conduct preliminary food safety inspection of meat processing activities.
