Department Summary:

Under the leadership of the Head of Strategy, Advisor & Client Experience, the Communication & Change Management team is connected into all facets of the business, providing overarching support and guidance for IG’s key strategic projects to drive adoption through effective communication and change management. This includes working closely with various stakeholders in the coordination, development and execution of a national communication strategy to support our IG Advisor network.

 

Position:

This role is a key resource to the AVP, AX/CX Communication & Change Management, providing support in the development, management and execution of a robust advisor communication strategy. This role requires superior communication and time management skills, creativity, as well as strong organizational and project execution skills.  Additional responsibilities include the development, quality and accuracy of presentations for internal use with senior management (CEOs, Senior Vice-Presidents, Regional Vice-Presidents and Division Managers). Collaboration will be key across all functional areas of the business.

 

Responsibilities:

Lead the development of business communications and presentation materials, ensuring consistency in content and delivery across multiple audiences.

Assist in the development, management, and execution of an effective advisor (AX) communication strategy.

Create presentation content for internal leadership meetings, offsites, townhalls and field member presentations.

Provide support with the coordination and facilitation of virtual events, including the Field Leadership Webcast (FLW) and various national meetings/events (i.e. Leaders Academy, National Regional Vice-President Meetings, Business Planning, etc.).

Lead the management and coordination of IG’s National Field Network Advisory Group program – including the coordination of communications, collection and implementation of key stakeholder feedback.

Plays active role in supporting IG’s organizational change management strategy through effective communication planning and support.

Key liaison with the IG Corporate Communication and Marketing teams.

Requirements:

Preferred experience in a financial services environment.

Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels. Effective writing skills including proof-reading and content editing.

Creative approach to presentation and communication development.

Demonstrated proficiency and expertise in Microsoft Office 365 application suite with an emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel. This includes the ability to create and produce presentations and reports using the most up to date technology.

Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects/tasks with flexibility to manage changing priorities and tight deadlines.

Ability to work autonomously, with high levels of initiative, accountability, and a progressive attitude towards innovation and change.

Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop and Premier would be beneficial, but not mandatory.

Bilingual preferred, but not mandatory

Position 

We are currently hiring an intern looking for a Fall term position, September to December 2025.  Candidates must be in an undergraduate or graduate program that will be returning to school after the internship to be eligible to apply. Located in our Winnipeg and Toronto offices, the IT Risk team is a critical part of Investors Group / Mackenzie Investments (IGM Financial).  

 
Reporting to the Manager of Technology Risk, the Intern candidate’s core responsibilities will include:   

Creation and maintenance of security-centric documents, policies, standards, rules, and procedures 

Identify and analyze data to evaluate effectiveness of security controls 

Assist Risk Analysts and Advisors to prioritized remediation recommendations 

Drive remediation efforts based on the results of security scans across all IT disciplines 

Assist in designing effective security controls 

Assist in dashboarding and displaying information to present to management 

Assist in streamlining and automating routine processes 

Support security and risk education and awareness campaigns to further drive cyber-resilience across the organization using Microsoft Office suite of products 

Create re-usable awareness materials and articles for various periodicals and intranet sites 

 

The following qualifications are required of the successful candidate: 

Enrolled in a post-secondary education program in a relevant technology discipline or designation/certification, or bring transferable skills and general knowledge of technology 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing and delivering presentations with impact 

Proactive and self-motivated with strong attention to detail, problem solving, prioritization and organizational abilities 

Demonstrable experience with MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced functionality), and PowerPoint; experience with Power BI a plus  

Passion and interest in Technology, IT Risk, and Cyber Security preferred 

Proven collaboration and facilitation skills with cross-functional teams

Position:

This position is responsible for supporting the Data Science team in Analytics and Data Engineering tasks. The student will assist in developing datasets, models, and reports which are used to understand our business and meet strategic objectives. This position provides a great opportunity for a university student to gain practical experience in the fields of AI and Data Science. 

  

Responsibilities: 

Designing and developing relevant datasets, reports and analysis for operational and strategic initiatives 

Work with data from multiple sources and databases (manipulate data, prepare data for machine learning) 

Analyze structured and unstructured data, organize findings and translate into actionable insights 

Learn various modelling approaches and understand how to evaluate best performance considering model metrics and appropriateness for business interpretation 

Collaborate closely with relevant teams to ensure models/solutions can be deployed 

Participate in the development, testing, implementation, documentation and continuous improvement of datasets and data models as a member of the Data Science team 

  

Requirements: 

Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Data Science, Computer Science, Management Analytics, Statistics or a similar field 

Knowledge of SQL, Python, and Git 

Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, and/or other BI and reporting tools is a plus
