DEPARTMENT SUMMARY

The Client Relations department delivers critical front-line support to Advisors, Clients, Assistants, Specialists and other internal partners on business matters and products for multiple lines of business and across multiple service platforms.  

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Client Relations department is a critical business function and enabler of strategic transformation initiatives impacting IGWM. As a central resource for Advisors, Clients and internal business partners, Client Relations provides support for new product launches, technologies and processes that are key to the success of transformation. Working in a fast-paced environment, the main responsibility is to accurately, professionally and effectively handle and resolve client and consultant inquiries and problems through acquired product knowledge of the corporate policies and procedures.    

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Creating effortless experiences when receiving and responding to inbound phone and email contacts from consultants, clients, and other institutions, and ensuring we only do what is best for our clients.  
Delivering a reliable, consistent, and transparent service by handling all inquiries with a high level of quality and professionalism, determining the best course of action, and ensuring completion of action has met established standards. 
Deliver value by maintaining knowledge and awareness of all policies, procedures and technologies including sharing information on recent policy changes and simplified business processes. 
Build a culture of quality by assisting team members with problem resolution by providing and sharing information and experiences. 
Enable personal and departmental growth by participating in individual and team meetings with leadership to discuss call monitoring feedback, training and development needs, service levels, and providing feedback on business operation needs and trends by maintaining awareness of business needs and requirements. 
Fuel our future by supporting transformation and modernization, and promoting adoption for our consultants and our clients as we go through our transformation journey 
Promote operational excellence by participating in special projects and assignments within the Client Services Division.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Ability to work independently in your home office where you will serve clients on the phone leveraging your resilience, resourcefulness, and proven experience in delivering an exceptional client experience and deepening client relationships.  
Contact Centre Experience and Knowledge: Minimum 2 plus years in a diverse client service focused role, with front line client service and working with mutual funds/other investments experience. 
Education: Post-secondary degree/diploma in a business discipline with relevant securities or financial services courses is an asset. 
Client Oriented: Excellent interpersonal and proven client service skills with an ability to interact across various situations 
Communications: Well demonstrated written and verbal communication skills 
Understanding and adopting emerging and changing technologies is required to stay relevant. Proficient PC skills including Word, Excel, Access and email 
Highly engaged and adaptive with emotional intelligence, agility, critical thinking, decision making, analysis and collaboration 
Organization: Ability to plan, execute, and follow through with actions and requests in a timely manner

POSITION SUMMARY: The Associate PWM Operations is responsible for a broad set of tasks to support the business unit and PWM teams in the field.  This includes the development and facilitation of regular PWM webinars, calls and meetings, coordinating the onboarding of new PWM Advisors, developing collaborative relationships with PWM teams, and providing support to 2 PWM Vice Presidents.

Project management experience is an asset.

Well developed communication skills (written and oral) and able to take the initiative to respond intuitively in an appropriate and timely manner.

A comfort level with public speaking and hosting webinars or in-person meetings.

The Role:

As a member of our Corporate Solutions Technology team at IGM, you will be joining a highly collaborative group with experience in and passion for delivering innovative solutions for our clients, advisors, and employees using the latest technology and insights. 

 

The individual joining our team will be on the ground floor of a major, strategic, multi-year Program that will transform our Middle Office by implementing the Bank of New York Mellon’s (BNYM) OnCore and Eagle Platforms. Work streams include Trade Support, Portfolio Accounting/Investment Book of Record and Data & Analytics. A significant portion of the Systems Analysis work will relate to creating technical interface specifications. We follow the IGM Delivery Framework and leverage Jira (Kanban Board) and Confluence to track our work.

 

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

Works with the Lead Systems Analyst, Delivery Lead, Project Manager and other Team Members to create and/or collaborate on project deliverables eg technical/interface specifications, data mappings etc

Decomposes and visualizes work into Jiras; attends standup meetings and advises on progress

Supports the Testing efforts and will be involved in Interface/Integration Testing

Department Summary: 

The mandate of the Compliance Department is to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements affecting mutual fund and investment dealers as well as insurance and financial planning firms.

Within this scope are adherence to rules, policies, and by-laws of the self-regulatory organizations (CIRO, CSF), provincial securities commissions, and insurance commissions/councils. The Financial Planning Standards Council and the Institute of Financial Planning. The department works closely with Distribution Leadership and other management to develop appropriate corporate policies, identifies, and promotes good business practices, executes business review programs to monitor sales practices, and manages client complaint resolution processes.

 

Position Summary: 

The Senior Compliance Specialist is responsible for the oversight of the advisor’s business activities and executing various compliance programs such as reviews of the insurance business practice and implementing supervisory programs. Work involves conducting analysis of various sources of information including file documentation, reports, audit procedures, and interviews to identify trends or issues. The Senior Compliance Specialist is responsible for identifying appropriate corrective actions, communicating recommendations to affected parties, and following up to ensure that corrective actions are effectively implemented and well documented. 

 

Duties Include: 

Oversight of the advisor’s practice with an emphasis on the supervision of insurance, financial planning, mortgage, and banking solutions.

Lead Compliance Practice Review programs (develop an action plan, execute the program, monitor to resolve issues, and report on results)

Provide guidance and direction to the field including recommendations on remedial actions, including meetings or conference calls, training presentations, and exception approvals, to assist with the resolution of deficiencies. 

Prepare management reports on completed programs for distribution to senior management, field directors, and/or regulators. Monitor progress on corrective actions. 

Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff on unusual, sensitive, and escalated cases, determine appropriate corrective actions.   

 

Qualifications: 

Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial services environment preferably with relevant licensed experience in insurance, investment industry, or in a compliance-related role.

Completion of a post-secondary degree in a relevant business discipline.

Completion of or commit to complete the Life Insurance Course (LLQP), and the Certified Financial Planners Program (CFP or equivalent program in Quebec) within a specified timeframe.

In-depth knowledge of financial planning strategies 

In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry, including an understanding of regulatory requirements of the Insurance councils, CIRO, and other regulators 

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet research

Proficiency in the French language (speaking, reading, and writing).

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:

Consultant Compensation & Network Administration is a key department within the Financial Services division for Investors Group.  Consultant Compensation & Network Administration is committed to attracting and developing people who are passionate about learning and to building a foundation that supports consistent and positive service experiences for our consultants. The Compensation team provides a combination of support for our compensation programs and must have an understanding amount a variety of products across multiple platforms (ICM, SAP, IG host, IGFS, IGFS (Nominee) and IGSI) and provides administrative processing and servicing support to Investors Group Consultants, Associates, Division Directors, Regional Directors and works in partnership with Region offices and various business partners within Head office.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for responding to requests received through phone calls, email and paper mail, researching, analyzing and bringing resolution to sensitive issues relating to products and services available to consultants.  This involves the completion of various orders, communications, financial processing, quality control and reporting.  This individual is expected to maintain a high level of accuracy, timeliness and accountability.

 

DUTIES INCLUDE:

Research and respond to incoming emails and phone calls.

Identifying areas of improvement to increase accuracy and efficiency of processing within Compensation Services.

Investigate complex situations to determine the root causes and the appropriate measures required to resolve the situation. This will include manual calculations, and reconciliations.

Review, calculate and process Consultant/Associate compensation and remit deductions.

Produce and amend T4A’s and Releve 1’s for commissionable earnings for the Consultant Network.

Validate, import and process data from spreadsheets created by external suppliers and internal departments to ensure proper allocation of Consultants earnings. Work within tight deadlines to ensure processing is completed within the scheduled commission cycle.

Act as a liaison with the respective head office partners to ensure appropriate action is taken on Consultant inquiries

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 2 years experience in a financial services environment

Experience with TreX, DCA, SAS, SSUI and Residual CLASS operating systems along with strong PC skills working with Microsoft Office Suite applications; Excel, Word and Access.

Proven analytical, problem solving and decision making skills

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail in a timely manner

Strong oral and written communication skills

Working knowledge of Investors Group product shelf; operating policies and procedures

Bilingual French and English is mandatory

The Role 

We are currently looking for a Senior Compensation Specialist reporting to the Director, Compensation to join our IGM Human Resources department as part of either Mackenzie Investments or Investors Group.  This role is an 18-month contract position.

  

Within the Human Resources Department of IGM, the Compensation team works with the Human Resources Business Partners to support the company and its business units to attract, engage, and retain top talent by ensuring competitive compensation packages are offered and excellence in performance is rewarded. The team has overall responsibility for the design, implementation, and maintenance of all compensation programs. 

  

As a valued member of the Compensation team your core responsibilities will include: 

Provide program and operational support for the execution of IGM’s compensation programs. 

Participate in the development of (and) maintain analytical models to support the costing and analysis of compensation programs.

Manage and deliver the end-to-end submission process for assigned compensation surveys.

Analyze the results of compensation surveys, highlighting trends and other insights.

Play a key role in delivering the annual and ad hoc competitive analysis of our compensation programs.

Develop and maintain Leader resources and job aids.

Coordinate the development and distribution of employee and Leader communications. 

Assist in the continuous improvement of compensation programs by researching market trends and analyzing compensation survey data.  

Provide support for the annual year end compensation planning process. 

Participate in process design and documentation to increase efficiencies in the management of compensation programs. 

Participate in the testing, implementation and ongoing maintenance of compensation tools and technology. 

Support the compensation managers and director on various ad-hoc projects as required.

 

Qualifications:  

University degree in business administration or related discipline 

2-4 years of relevant work experience in compensation 

Proficient in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills). 

Strong analytical skills and ability to manage large amounts of data  

Strong attention to detail  

The ability to work independently and actively participate in teamwork 

General knowledge of Human Resources practices & policies is an asset 

Experience providing support for sales compensation plans is an asset
