Overview

The Corporate Development function at IGM Financial is responsible for leading and coordinating M&A processes, following business cases post-transaction, and leveraging the team’s strategy & business valuation expertise to add value across IGM Financial. 

Reporting to the AVP, Corporate Development, the Senior Manager is responsible for supporting and/or coordinating activities related to M&A strategic initiatives and other initiatives that require Corporate Development involvement. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Play a key supporting role on a focused and efficient M&A team as we push forward on transaction processes, such as:

Preliminary assessment of M&A opportunities

Due Diligence

Deal negotiations

Engagement of intra-company partners as well as third-party advisors (e.g., investment bankers) and third-party vendors (e.g., virtual data room providers). 

Expressions of interest

Provide company-wide valuation expertise and valuation model development.  

Conduct analysis and research; translate your research to presentations fit for executive audiences that include the CEO and, CFO. 

Build or enhance complex financial and valuation models. 

Prepare routine reports. Ensure all documentation adheres to Corporate Development’s documentation processes and controls.  

Collaborate with various internal stakeholder teams to forecast financial performance and key financial metrics on a monthly basis. 

Mentor and develop interns and / or junior team members.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting and/or related major with a CPA, CFA or CBV designation (obtained or ongoing). 

Minimum 4 years experience in corporate development, investment banking, corporate finance, corporate strategy, venture capital or private equity; previous exposure to the wealth management, asset management, or financial services industries (fintech included) is a plus.  

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships both internally and externally. 

Ability to manage multiple shifting priorities under challenging time constraints, and coordinate projects among cross-functional teams. 

Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills. 

Proven problem-solving skills.  Able to distill complex quantitative and qualitative analysis into simpler concepts for broader audiences. 

Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Proficiency in data visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau) and market data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg) would be an asset. 

The successful candidate will be expected to travel from time to time and must be willing and able to do so.

Position Summary:

The Senior Client Services specialist plays an integral role in supporting advisors in servicing the needs of high-net-worth clients and manage escalations, exceptions, and inquiries.  This role is responsible for managing complex cases and making critical and time sensitive decisions that will enhance client satisfaction by using acquired experience, resources, and precedents. The Senior Client Services specialist will act as a critical liaison between clients/advisors, other internal departments, and other Client Services operations team members as well as coordinate the timely execution of escalated cases by triaging cases, escalating directly with other financial institutions, completing root cause analysis, and providing feedback to internal partners to further enhance processes, procedures, and coaching. 

 

Duties Include, but are not limited to:

Coordinate any work performed by other service departments (Region Office Operations, Operations Services, Brokerage Operations, Legal, Compliance, etc.) and ensure appropriate service levels are provided to avoid financial losses and reputational damage.

Provide personalized assistance and administrative support on requirements, forms and submission methods, schedule and facilitate a pre-submission full review meeting for extensive assistance to advisors and their teams, pre and post submission of their requests. Proactively communicate with the advisor’s team regarding NIGO (fully review NIGOs to determine if valid or can be resolved internally and support advisor through the resolution process), status updates, follow-ups, and confirmation upon completion of all transactions. Proactively anticipate service concerns and work with colleagues to develop solutions.

Proactively escalate by calling or meeting with external business partners and other financial institutions for quick resolution.

Conduct research & analysis of complex and/or escalated issues to determine the best course of action for resolution.

Analyze the root cause of errors and trends to proactively implement changes to improve overall client satisfaction.

Identify areas of improvement to increase accuracy and efficiency of processing.

Provide feedback to leadership team on the knowledge & skills of the team members.

Communicate with internal and external business partners to explain current functions, procedures, policy, and problem resolution.

Maintain broad knowledge of business policy & procedures and participate in relevant training and development opportunities.

 

 

Qualifications:

Post-secondary education in a related field

Knowledge of core products, services, policies & procedures for investment offerings

Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with demonstrated ability to articulate relevant information and direction in an organized and concise manner.

Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Strong PC skills and practical experience with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

Advanced knowledge of internal systems (All digital tools: SAS, DCA, TREX, Transact, Salesforce (Advisor Portal, Digital Forms, DocuSign), Platform Zero.) and proven desire and ability to learn quickly.

Position:

The Director of Accounting Research will play a critical role in supporting the company’s financial reporting and accounting functions. This position will be responsible for conducting research and analysis on complex accounting issues, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, providing technical accounting guidance to various teams within the organization.

Position (details)

We are currently accepting applications for the position of Client Services Operations (CSO) Snr Administrative Assistant. This position is responsible for providing support to 2+ CSO Vice Presidents.

 

The successful candidates’ specific responsibilities will include:

Managing calendars

Coordinating all aspects of meeting logistics (nationally and cross company), including securing meeting rooms, audio/visual connectivity and preparation and distribution of presentations

Processing and coordinating invoice payments

Providing departmental support for all components of onboarding/offboarding staff and contractors including workstation allocation, hardware/software/access requests, updating distribution lists, obtaining building access cards, creating and maintaining time tracking profiles and being a point of contact for related activities

Coordinating travel arrangements and preparing expense reports

Coordinating and organizing team meetings

The Role:

As a member of our Corporate Solutions Technology team at IGM, you will be joining a highly collaborative group with experience in and passion for delivering innovative solutions for our clients, advisors, and employees using the latest technology and insights. 

 

This role works closely with business sponsors and business representatives to capture the systems objectives, evaluate the business case, and define solutions that are in alignment with the organizational system architecture. This role also works with Project Managers, Systems Architects, and Software Developers in a shared responsibility for project evaluation, quality and completion. Involvement with large scale projects involving multiple business areas as well as internal and external providers is anticipated.  The role will require a strong understanding of the high level of complexity across business areas where both the impact and risk associated are high.

The successful candidate will be working on our Finance, Audit and Risk team, and will be responsible for configuring SAP ECC Finance modules; specifically, FI, AP, AR, CO, MM.  Our SAP ERP environment is ECC 6.0 Enhancement Pkg 8.  Detailed knowledge of impacts to SAP configuration is required to support sustainment and project delivery.   

Candidate will have 10+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Configuration and Systems Analysis with large Program experience.
 

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

Liaises with business stakeholders to understand industry trends and business objectives to design the solution that will meet their decision support and management reporting needs. 

Defines and communicates systems requirements at the appropriate level of detail to ensure applications are flexible, open, scalable, available, testable, and maintainable within a high-volume production environment.

Analyzes and conceptualizes the design of the solution, working with the Systems Architect, Vendors and Software Developer to achieve the client stakeholder objectives through effective deployment of technology.

The Business Architecture Lead will have a key role in driving IGM business strategy and vision enablement.  The individual will build and manage a team of experienced senior business architects and analysts accountable for assisting IGM business lines and functions in defining, designing, and enabling business capabilities, processes, and platforms across IGM.

Key Team Activities:

Define and ensure a structured and consistent business architecture and analysis approach and methodology is being leveraged across all business architect and analysis domains.  

Lead the articulation and development of business capability, process and platform solutions, options and recommendations.

Analyze, recommend and drive improvements to the IGM structural relationships and operating models.  Including the creation and maintenance of operating models, definition and decomposition of business capabilities, and the definition and design of interactions between processes, people, and systems.

Ensure that business problems, opportunities, requirements and recommendations are well documented and aligned with change and business objectives. 

Advise on options, risks, costs vs. benefits, and impact of changes to core business capabilities, processes and platforms/systems.

Drive the development of multi-year roadmaps for defined business capabilities through collaboration with internal business, technology and operations stakeholders.  The roadmap development process/approach will drive out the prioritization and sequencing of business imperatives, initiatives and projects.

Work closely with business experts, technology account managers, technology development, enterprise architects, vendors, and contractors to understand business and system requirements.

Ensure consistency, quality and timeliness of Requirements Management Plans, Business Requirement documents and related process flow diagrams.

Liaise with key stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems.

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: 

The mandate of the Compliance Department is to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements affecting investment dealers, including rules, policies and by-laws of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO), AMF and CSF, provincial securities commissions, insurance commissions/councils and other regulators. The Department works closely with Distribution Leadership and other management to develop appropriate corporate policies, identifies and promotes good business practices, executes business review programs to monitor sales practices, manages client complaint resolution processes and conducts branch examination programs.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Manager, Compliance Registrations oversees a team that is responsible registration filings to the applicable regulators such as Securities Commissions, CIRO and AMF. This includes quality and timely filings regarding licensing, outside activities, terminations, disclosures, business locations, trade names and probationary licensing of insurance candidates and financial planner licensing in Québec, through applicable external regulatory reporting systems including National Registration Database (NRD), Service en Ligne (AMF), Member Electronic Tracking System (METS) and Comprehensive Reporting System (COMSET). The Senior Manager is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to staff on sensitive issues, managing resources, ensuring consistent protocols and guidelines are applied, identifying trends and recommending process/policy improvements and corrective actions. This role will manage responses to regulatory inquiries related to registrations, including inquiries about registrant disclosures and registration issues. 

 

 DUTIES INCLUDE:

Coach and develop employees; provide guidance and support on sensitive issues

Manage resources and prioritize workflow of team to ensure daily, monthly and annual priorities are met

Lead and participate in cross-departmental initiatives including reviewing, assessing, and implementing regulatory and corporate policy and procedure changes that impact licenses

Report on apparent trends or recurring deficiencies and appropriate corrective actions.  Identify and implement process improvements.

Develop effective relationships with Business Partners, including but not limited to: Advisor Recruitment Experience, Distribution Leadership, Region Office Operations Management, Advisors and Regulators to ensure the timely resolution of sensitive cases.

Respond to regulator (Security Commissions, CIRO, CSF, AMF, Insurance Councils) inquiries related to compliance registrations. Conduct appropriate research and due diligence; correspond with Advisors and Business Partners as required to address issues questioned by regulators.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 10 years of experience in a financial services environment; experience in a compliance environment considered an asset

Leadership experience, including staff performance, development, and coaching

Post-secondary degree in a relevant business discipline; industry related courses considered an asset

Knowledge of the financial services industry, including understanding of Provincial Securities Acts and the bylaws, insurance councils, regulations and policies of the CIRO, AMF, CSF and other regulators

Effective analytical and problem-solving skills that rely on a risk-based approach to decision making

Strong oral and written communication skills.  Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with various levels of staff, including senior management, along with being an effective listener.  Must have a positive and collaborative approach to teamwork. French communication is an asset.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and deal with interruptions while working within strict deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
