POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager, Region Office Operations oversees and manages the day-to-day administrative operations of a Region/Division Office. This position acts as key liaison between head office, consultants and clients. Key aspects of the position include coordination and implementation of corporate initiatives, supervising a human resource complement, business processing and compliance/regulatory requirements, facilities maintenance, financial resource management, inventory management and controls. 

 

DUTIES INCLUDE:

Manage Human Resource complement:

Recruitment, training, development and performance management

Coordination and implementation of corporate initiatives, policies and procedures related to business processes, regulatory/risk management

Oversee general office operations:

Financial resource management, facilities maintenance, inventory control

Region Office business processing and compliance/regulatory administration

Provide support to Consultant Network including orientation, training, general inquiries, procedures, sales support inventory

Support local management in recruiting/licensing process, compliance and regulatory requirements    

QUALIFICATIONS:

4 years of office experience preferably in the Financial Services industry

Post-secondary education in a business discipline and completion or enrollment in industry recognized courses (e.g. IFIC, CFP) would be an asset

Proven strengths in the areas of:

Communication – Proficient in verbal and written communication

Leadership – Efficient use of resources, recognition of contributions, fostering development of team

Accountability – Ownership and responsibility of individual and team actions to achieve results

Position:

The Senior Manager, Risk Analytics is responsible for monitoring mortgage originations and portfolio performance, leading complex analytical assessments and quantifying defaults and credit losses. This individual performs portfolio risk analytics, develops and maintains credit risk models, and works closely with internal stakeholders in leading the areas of governance, reporting and data management to ensure portfolio maintenance and model methodologies are following internal framework and regulatory requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

Point 1: Portfolio Risk Analytics

Responsible for the design and development of credit portfolio risk activities such as: analytics, data quality, monitoring, reporting and process/operational enhancements.

Develop and maintain risk metrics and dashboards with main KPI’s and KRI’s on mortgage originations (approval rate, funding rate, GDS/TDS, exceptions, Credit scores, LTV, etc.) and portfolio performance (concentration, delinquency rate, loss rate, refreshed LTV, refreshed scores, etc.)

Responsible for reporting on key risk metrics in relation to the key performance indicators for the credit risk portfolio. Perform and review analyses for ad-hoc requests, and present insights.

Follow and summarize the state of the macroeconomic environment, propose stress test scenarios on the credit portfolio.

Responsible for creating, implementing and managing data quality controls and effectiveness for accuracy and reliability.

Provide and communicate clear and accurate information related to the credit risk portfolio as requested by stakeholders.

Point 2: Model Development & Maintenance

Develop and design risk rating models for the credit portfolio to support the Profitability of Default (PD), Loss Given Default (LGD), Exposure at Default (EAD) parameters.

Perform key tasks associated with model development including data analysis, data mining, model implementation and documentation.

Support the assessment of Expected Credit Loss (ECL) and Provision for Credit Loss (PCL)

Develop and maintain credit risk models and analytics, contribute to stress testing exercises.

Analyze the effectiveness of models through the entire model lifecycle and demonstrating model performance.

Point 3: Governance, Reporting & Data

Prepare and present management summaries highlighting key decisions and key findings at management forums (Mortgage Risk Committee, etc.).

Lead the process of establishing the model risk framework and promote a risk culture.

Work with data developers to integrate data from multiple internal and external sources to be used for risk analytics.

Lead the process of defining and implementing credit risk data architecture and infrastructure.

Leverage existing programming software (SAS, SQL, Python) and technologies (Tableau, PowerBI) for data discovery, visualization, modelling and reporting.

Keep abreast of industry and regulatory landscape and recommend and enforce improvements to tests/methods to fulfill internal validation needs and to align with industry practices.

Requirements:

Education, Experience, Qualification and Job specific knowledge and skills

Education: Quantitative background master’s degree in finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related certification.

Hands on experience with SAS or Python or other sophisticated model development tools.

Strong experience in data analytics in creating and manipulating large data sets for statistical modelling and developing risk rating models.  

Experience: minimum 5+ years in a risk management position working in the mortgage industry.

Qualifications (certifications, designations etc.): Professional qualifications such as Financial Risk Management (FRM) or Professional Risk Manager (PRM) are an added advantage.

Very strong knowledge of credit risk management methodologies, policies and practices.

Well-developed knowledge and understanding of stress testing and scenario analysis, methodologies, and frameworks.

Autonomy and sense of initiative.

Ability to influence.

Proven problem-solving skills.

Strong organizational and analytical skills.

Excellent teamwork, coaching, leadership and relationship building skills.

Comfort and experience working in a project environment and managing multiple competing priorities.

Critical thinking skills and ability to work under tight timelines.

The Role:

As a member of our Corporate Solutions Technology team at IGM, you will be joining a highly collaborative group with experience in and passion for delivering innovative solutions for our clients, advisors, and employees using the latest technology and insights. 

 

This role works closely with business sponsors and business representatives to capture the system’s objectives, evaluate the business requirements, and define solutions that are in alignment with the organizational system architecture. This role works with the Delivery Leader and Project Managers, Systems Architects, System Configurators, Software Developers and Quality Management in a shared responsibility for project evaluation, quality, and completion. Involvement with small to large scale projects involving multiple business areas as well as internal and external partners is anticipated.  The role will require a strong understanding of the high-level complexity across business areas where both the impact and risk associated are high.

 

The successful candidate will be working on our Human Capital Management (HCM) team and will be responsible for soliciting and documenting system requirements, following the software development life cycle.  Experience with HR technologies will be considered an asset for this position, including SAP ECC for HR and Payroll, SuccessFactors modules, Qualtrics analyzing and configuring SAP ECC and SuccessFactors HR modules; specifically, Employee Central (SuccessFactors), Payroll and Time Management (SAP ECC) and variable incentive compensation (Specialized Incentive Planning Tool – ICM). Detailed knowledge of impacts to payroll processes, and integration to SuccessFactors Employee Central functionality is required.

 

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

Hands-on configuration of SAP ECC, SuccessFactors-HR, and ICM variable pay modules to meet business requirements

Liaises with business stakeholders to understand industry trends and business objectives to design the solution that will meet their decision support and management reporting needs 

Defines and communicates systems requirements at the appropriate level of detail to ensure applications are flexible, open, scalable, available, testable, and maintainable within a high-volume production environment 

Analyzes and conceptualizes the design of the solution, working with the Systems Architect, Vendors, Software Developer and Testing Team to achieve the client stakeholder objectives through effective deployment of technology. 

Applies both in-depth HR business and technical knowledge, to successfully represent the business and technology community in arriving at technical solutions

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following core competencies and experience:

Strong experience in configuring SAP HCM modules: Time Management, Payroll (Canada), OM, PA, Benefits

3+ years’ experience working with business principles and a broad range of different types of business functions.

Strong understanding of IS Methodologies, processes, and practices.

Excellent understanding of Payroll and Time Schemas

Strong understanding of SuccessFactors Employee Central and ECC data Replication

Demonstrated ability to provide and effectively communicate technology recommendations to the business 

Experience working with developers to design and analyze alternative technical solutions, test completed code, and complete a smooth implementation with business partners 

Proficient analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills 

Advanced knowledge, experience, and understanding of architecture, application development, application systems design, integration, and testing

SQL skills and experience performing data analysis

Demonstrated proficiency in a team environment with projects involving the integration of disparate types of technologies/platforms through a mix of agile and waterfall development

Demonstrated experienced in providing operational and sustainment services and support

Proven capabilities in establishing and maintaining effective partnerships and relationships 

Strong communication skills (oral, written, facilitation, presentation) and facilitation skills

Demonstrated initiative and leadership abilities – comfortable managing issues in cross functional teams
