The Team Youth Correction Officers at Burnaby Youth Custody Services are a dedicated and supportive group of 67 Officers structured into 8 teams, each led by a Senior Youth Correction Officer. They collaborate closely with internal teams and community partners, including Youth Probation Officers, Youth Mental Health, Chaplains, and Elders. Using a trauma informed approach the team ensures safety and consistency for youth in custody addressing their complex needs while enabling public safety. There is a strong sense of camaraderie and mutual support and the team is committed to making meaningful impact.
