New Grad Rotational Program – Operations Stream  

We are currently hiring students in their final year of study looking for opportunities after graduation.  The New Grad Rotational Program offers students the opportunity to complete four rotations over a two-year period with the opportunity to be placed full-time after completion.  The participants will develop a strong understanding of the business’s big picture and how each department contributes to the success of the organization. 

  

With placements available in our Winnipeg IG Wealth Management office, the Operations Stream will provide hands-on exposure to important projects, contributing real gains to the company.  Within a supportive and collaborative environment, participants are given the autonomy and responsibility to manage their projects and deliver results to senior members of the team.   If you have a strong interest in the financial industry and enjoy solving programs this opportunity is for you.  In addition, the program will provide training to develop leadership skills and the opportunity to build a network across the organization.  The program provides a mentorship component with continuous feedback and coaching.

Position

We are currently hiring an intern looking for a Summer term position, May to August in our Winnipeg Office. Candidates in an undergraduate program that will be returning to school after their internship are eligible to apply.

 

The Architecture and Technology Innovation team at IGM is made up of dedicated leaders who establish a set of technical patterns and standards to provide a foundation to enable modern, simple, digitized processes in support of changing business needs and strategy over time.   The Architects and Analysts in the Architecture and Technology Innovation team collaborate with our Corporate, Digital, Infrastructure, Delivery and Operations teams to understand the foundational technology needs that will support IGM’s business strategy and the delivery of required platforms and solutions.  Team members support the Architecture Community of Practice which includes representation from Digital and Corporate Platforms, Integration and Automation, Data Office, Security Architecture, Network Architecture, End User Infrastructure, DevOps and Architecture Governance.

Responsibilities:

Engage with Solution Architects and Delivery Leadership and related stakeholders to complete analysis and investigation tasks that contribute to Architecture Governance

Gain both business and technical knowledge, that is required to compete assigned tasks and define/implement solutions that effectivity support technology teams

Participate in production and coordination of communication activities within the Architecture Community of Practice and the Delivery Organization

 

Requirements:

Enrolled in a business or computer science program

Ability to work independently and within a team environment

Ability to analyze, investigate and solve problems

Ability to analyze and interpret data

Capability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and relationships

Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation)

Positive attitude, keeping a constant watch on how to do things better

Adaptability and a willingness to take on new challenges

Knowledge of tools and technologies (e.g. SharePoint, Confluence, Office 365, JIRA)

Knowledge of cloud services (Azure, GCP, AWS) is an advantage

Position

Position Details:

The successful candidate will support the Mortgage, Insurance and Banking Portfolio Support department, which is responsible for managing/coordinating department projects, leadership calls, communications strategy. Provide support to management within Mortgage, Insurance and Banking team as required.
