The Role:

The Regional Estate & Insurance Specialist (REIS) is responsible for providing personalized insurance solutions that meet the needs of IG Wealth Management clients. Working closely with IG advisors, the REIS designs and implements advanced strategies for wealth preservation, retirement income enhancement, estate distribution and transfer, charitable giving, business succession and living benefits, including critical illness insurance and disability income protection. Competitive base salary and benefits are offered, as well as performance-based compensation.

The REIS uses their expertise in insurance and estate planning to optimize clients’ financial plans. They will use leading financial planning software to translate abstract notions into concrete terms. Through a proactive approach, the REIS will identify opportunities to partner with advisors and clients. 

 

Responsibilities:

Establish relationships with consultants who want to partner with you to act as the insurance expert on their team for their HNW clients

Identify clients and insurance opportunities together with the consultant.

Develop proposal, model in our proprietary financial planning software, and present the solution to the client.

Actively speak and engage consultants at RO events and clients at marketing events.

Liaise with Region Management to identify strategies to grow insurance sales and Consultant growth opportunities.

Manage and promote key relationships with our Insurance Partners’ Advanced Sales departments.

Collaborate with Head Office on insurance and estate planning initiatives to the field.

 

Requirements:

Strong leadership, sales and relationship building skills and ability to execute on your own business plan.

Knowledge and understanding of industry conditions and trends, and competitor products and pricing.

Expert knowledge of insurance & estate planning principles, financial services, and tax laws.

Ability to run a successful practice virtually and to travel throughout your own area using your own means of transportation.

Strong customer service attitude with good interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and in a team environment in both French and English.

Well-developed negotiation and influencing skills.

Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills

Holds applicable provincial licenses.

Department Summary:

The National Sales Team in the Investment Solutions business (IG Investments) oversees distribution of all IG Investments products & solutions.  Additionally, Investors Group Securities Inc. (IGSI) is a securities investment dealer, registered throughout Canada. IGSI accommodates and administers the diverse brokerage product and service needs of HNW clients referred by IG Wealth Management Advisors.  The Research Analyst Team is responsible for overseeing individual large cap securities models for Canada and United States.

 

Position Summary:

The Securities Research Analyst (SRA) is responsible for research, analysis, and recommendations to the Canadian & U.S models.  This team works as generalists covering multiple geographies, sectors and names.  The SRA is responsible for coverage, buy & sell recommendations to the leadership team and committee, while providing rationale from research reports available.  The SRA is also responsible to take inbound requests from securities licensed advisors at IG to ensure proper due diligence is conducted in their recommendations.  The Team Lead is responsible for leadership, coaching and integrity of research and upkeep of changes.  The Team Lead is responsible for adhering to a high standard of quality and articulating rationale proactively to securities licensed advisors at IG.  Additionally, the Team Lead is responsible for creation and implementation of asset transition process for potential recruits, with a goal of providing seamless experience, while collaborating with other functional areas.

 

Duties Include:

Qualifications:

Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation

The Portfolio Strategists support IG Advisors by providing in depth analysis on IG Wealth client & prospect portfolios more than $500,000. The purpose of the Portfolio Strategist is to provide a consistent approach to analyzing and providing options on existing client and prospective portfolios. The role has a strong emphasis on the thoughtful analysis and implementation of IG Investment products & publicly traded securities. The Portfolio Strategist Team is a centralized team that provides competitive insights, and third-party product support. Along with supporting the Wholesaling team with portfolio reviews of existing and prospective Advisors and clients.

 

Duties Include:

Provide portfolio analysis and client account review services using Eikon, Factset & Morningstar Advisor Workstation programs.

Conduct case & client discovery meetings with Advisors and HNW Clients

Prepare detailed options and presentations ensuring client suitability criteria, where individual securities exist

Participate in client meetings when portfolios are more than $1,000,000, and/or as needed.

Prepare and conduct training sessions as needed for The National Sales Teams

Perform in depth analysis on third party investment products

Identify and develop competitive strategies and tools to increase & promote greater consistency in the service offering.

Managing workflows to meet the Portfolio Strategist service standards.

 

Qualifications:

Seven years in the securities industry in a role providing client portfolio analysis, recommendations, and trade advice

Valid Securities License with Securities Commission(s) – Registered Representative/Investment Advisor category or ability to achieve licensing over a short period

Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation

University Degree, Canadian Investment Manager (CIM), Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) or other securities industry credentials an asset
