Position:The Analyst, Private Company Advisory is responsible for participating in and supporting the operational activities of the business unit in deal execution and transaction management of financial advisory services to small-to-medium size businesses. The Analyst will support the Vice-President and Senior Vice-President in the preparation of marketing materials, presentations, research materials, proposals, developing complex financial models, and transaction documentation. 
 
The ideal candidate has experience working with wealth advisors and their business owner clients. Additionally, the candidate is able to apply experience and complete working knowledge of the job which includes the policies/practices required to perform a combination of routine tasks and varied administrative/operational assignments. 
 
Responsibilities:

Provide support in deal execution and transaction management
Develop financial models and analysis for potential and live transactions
Conduct thorough research on companies and industries and delivery of concise summaries
Use research tools to extract relevant background material for business development and transaction support
Assist in the preparation of internal and external marketing materials
Create presentations and pitch books to existing and potential clients
Support client meetings and calls with the Vice President
Collaborate with other team members to develop and execute client strategies
Assist with due diligence processes of potential buyers or clients of PCA
Ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies
Manage project timelines and deliverables
Other administrative tasks as needed

 
Qualifications

Undergraduate degree with a focus in business, commerce, finance, economics, mathematics, actuarial sciences, or other quantitative fields
1-3 years of work experience in the financial services with solid understanding of

Cash flow, financial modeling, and valuation
Inter-relation of net income, cash flow, and working capital
Using research tools to extract relevant background material for business development and transaction support

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and in French
Strong financial modeling skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong computer literacy with emphasis on PowerPoint presentation skills
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of financial and capital markets
Understanding of accounting and financial statements
Ability to work well under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Familiarity with valuation techniques and methodologies
Proficiency in other financial analysis tools such as Pitchbook or Capital IQ
Ability to find, research and analyze industries and companies

Travel may be required however we expect that to be limited in nature < 10 days per year. Most meetings will be through virtual collaboration.  Hybrid work environment is expected if you are located near one of our 3 corporate campuses (Winnipeg, Montreal or Toronto)
 
Knowledge of French and English is required to support clients and Team members within and/ or outside the province of Quebec.
