DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: The mandate of the Compliance Department is to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements affecting mutual fund investment dealers including rules, policies, and by-laws of self-regulatory organizations of Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO), the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), the Chambre de la sécurité financière (CSF), provincial securities commissions, insurance commissions/councils and other regulators. The Department works closely with Distribution Leadership and other management to develop appropriate corporate policies, identifies, and promotes good business practices, executes business review programs to monitor sales practices, manages complaint resolution processes and conducts branch examination programs.
 
POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Compliance Investigator is responsible for completing investigations of complaints and internal investigations, including determining appropriate investigatory steps, conducting a review, adjudicating the merits of a complaint, completing settlement negotiations with clients, and conducting required follow up on issues raised in each case. The work involves conducting analysis of various sources of information including file documentation, reports, procedures, and interviews to identify trends or issues. The individual will be responsible for identifying appropriate corrective actions, communicating recommendations to affected parties and providing guidance to ensure corrective actions can be effectively implemented and well documented.
 
In addition, this individual will be responsible for managing communications received in the Senior and Vulnerable Client Financial Abuse mailbox, responding to and escalating reviews where warranted, providing leadership and guidance on sensitive issues, as well as recommending process/policy improvements and corrective actions.  
As this role requires bilingual communications, French speaking clients, Advisors, and Quebec regulators are a focus.
 
DUTIES INCLUDE:

Review and respond to communications received by the Senior and Vulnerable Client Financial Abuse mailbox including investigating concerns to determine next steps and provide guidance as needed primarily related to clients and Advisors based in Quebec
Actively participant in the Senior and Vulnerable working group, staying up to date on regulations involving Senior and Vulnerable clients and assist with creation of Senior and Vulnerable Client and webinars and training materials.

Develop effective relationships with Clients, Regional Management, Advisors and Regulators to ensure the timely resolution of complaints
Investigate complaint and internal investigation matters through direct contact with Clients, Advisors, Branch Managers, Regional Management, and other internal business units
Conduct a detailed review and analysis of complaints and internal investigations, adjudicate and recommend an appropriate course of action to resolve the matter.
Provide coaching and guidance to the Senior Compliance Specialist on the research and analysis required
Identify apparent trends and deficiencies that may have contributed to a complaint situation and recommend appropriate corrective action

Recommend solutions and participate in the implementation of process improvements and changes to policies and procedures

 
QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 7 years of experience in a financial services environment, preferably in a compliance-related role
Post-secondary degree in a relevant business discipline
Successful completion of industry courses, such as the Certified Financial Planners Program (CFP or equivalent program in Quebec) is considered an asset
Completion of or commitment to complete, Canadian Securities Course (CSC)
Life Licensing Qualification Program (LLPQ) or equivalent program in Quebec is an asset
In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and an in-depth understanding of financial planning strategies
Understanding of rules, policies, and by-laws of CIRO, the AMF, the CSF, provincial securities commissions, insurance commissions/councils and other regulators
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate at the right level for the audience and present information in a convincing manner
Excellent problem solving, decision-making and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and deal with interruptions while working within a deadline-oriented environment
Proficiency in French and English languages (speaking, reading, and writing) is required to support clients and Team members within and/or outside the province of Quebec.

The Manager, Compliance, is registered to supervise the activities of IG Wealth Management registrants. 

 

Responsibilities include:

Conducting Tier 1 supervision activities including conducting reviews of daily and monthly trading, account opening and KYC updates, outside activities, social media supervision, and service-related complaint resolution on either the investment dealer or mutual fund dealer platform, and or both.

Supporting IG Wealth Management registrants in resolving compliance issues with regulatory guideline interpretation and with inquiries relating to acceptance of unique or exceptional situations.

Managing regulatory obligations and commitments, such as the 90-day training program, 6-month supervision, periodic on-site sub-branch visits, continuing education, as well as close supervision.

Identifying training requirements, implementing and coordinating the delivery of training programs.

Participating in internal compliance reviews or external regulator audits conducted in Head Office or Branch/Sub-Branch office locations.
 

Qualifications:

7+ years of experience in a compliance-related environment.

Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant business discipline.

Must qualify to be immediately registered with CIRO as a supervisor for investments, mutual funds or both.

If currently qualified as a supervisor for mutual funds only, the candidate must commit to completing the following courses within 1 year from hire, including the Canadian Securities Course (CSC), Conduct and Practices (CPH), and Investment Dealer Supervisor Course.

Will have to meet other continuing education requirements as required by the regulators.

In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry, including understanding of regulatory requirements of CIRO, insurance commissions/councils and other regulators.

Strong oral, written and communication skills must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with various levels of staff, including senior management, along with being an effective listener.

Must have a positive and collaborative approach to teamwork.

Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, perform multiple tasks, deal with interruptions and meet deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

The ability to communicate verbally and written in French & English (opened to candidates outside of Quebec). For candidates within Quebec, proficiency in the French language (speaking, reading and writing) is mandatory

Position (details)
As Manager in the Corporate Investments and Treasury department, you will be responsible for performing valuations and analysis of complex transactions for IGM Financial’s Mortgage Banking Operations.  You will be part of the Mortgage Banking team that is responsible for various aspects of the mortgage business which include funding, risk management, reporting, analysis, and forecasting.
 
Responsibilities:

Valuation of mortgage-related derivatives and other financial instruments with focus on securitization structures and risk management.
Prepare and interpret monthly valuation of mortgage banking structures including asset-backed commercial paper, mortgage-backed securities, and interest rate derivatives using a variety of standard and specialized valuation techniques.
Review daily valuations, and manage counterparty and internal communications for variation margin purposes (posting and demanding collateral, including interest payments).
Review, verify, and attribute changes in the valuations of mortgage-related derivatives.
Analysis of capital markets and industry.
Build and maintain complex dynamic financial models to analyze performance and various business-related risks.
Provide finance support as necessary on corporate and business development opportunities, including projects, ad-hoc analysis, valuations and due diligence.

Requirements:

4-7 years experience with understanding of the financial markets, valuation approaches, and a strong understanding of capital markets.
Undergraduate or graduate degree in a business discipline is required.
Completion or active pursuit of a financial designation (e.g. CFA, FRM, AFM, FSA, CPA) is an asset.
Advanced skills in Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications; Bloomberg experience is an asset.  
SAP experience building queries and modeling data extracts.
Strong valuation, analytical, and financial modeling skills
In depth knowledge of financial markets (particularly fixed income), the mortgage industry and financial statements.                                                            
Strong verbal and written communication skills.                                                                                  
Highly organized with ability to manage multiple demands under challenging time constraints/ conditions.

Role & Responsibility
The Director of Security Operations and Incident Response will lead IGM’s enterprise-wide security operations center (SOC), overseeing threat detection, investigation, incident response, and operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of IGM’s digital assets and infrastructure. The Director will manage a team of cybersecurity professionals and collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and executive leadership to proactively defend against cyber threats and respond to incidents with precision and speed. The director will be reporting to the AVP of Threat Management.

Security Operations Leadership

Lead the SOC team, ensuring continuous monitoring, triage, and escalation of security events.
Oversee the implementation and tuning of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and threat intelligence platforms.
Maintain and evolve operational playbooks, runbooks, and escalation protocols.
Provide data driven leadership and reporting based on various performance metrics.

Incident Response & Threat Management

Own the end-to-end incident response lifecycle: detection, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident review.
Serve as the Incident Commander for major cyber events, coordinating cross-functional response efforts.
Maintain and test the Cybersecurity Incident Response Plan (CSIRP) regularly, ensuring alignment with evolving threats and business needs.

Threat Intelligence & Hunting

Lead proactive threat hunting initiatives to identify latent threats within the environment.
Integrate external threat intelligence feeds and collaborate with industry peers to stay ahead of emerging threats.
Oversee External Attack Surface Management (EASM) and digital threat monitoring across clear web, social media, and dark web.

Compliance

Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards (e.g., SOC2, NIST, CSA) for the SOC.
Provide regular metrics and executive dashboards on SOC performance, threat trends, and incident response KPIs.
Collaborate with audit, legal, and risk teams during investigations and assessments.

Vendor and Contract Management

Manage relationships with IR retainer providers and technology vendors.
Coordinate onboarding and oversight of third-party SOC analysts and DFIR specialists.
Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies during investigations.

Relevant certifications include

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)

Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

 
 
Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent education and work experience.

10+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with 5+ years in a leadership role.

Proven experience managing SOC operations, incident response, and threat intelligence functions.

Deep knowledge of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and threat detection technologies.

Strong understanding of MITRE ATT&CK, cyber kill chain, and threat modeling.
