DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: The mandate of the Compliance Department is to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements affecting mutual fund and investment dealers, including rules, policies and by-laws of the self-regulatory organizations of CIRO, AMF and CSF, provincial securities commissions, insurance commissions/councils and other regulators. The Department works closely with Distribution Leadership and other management to develop appropriate corporate policies, identifies and promotes good business practices, executes business review programs to monitor sales practices, manages client complaint resolution processes and conducts branch examination programs.

 

POSITION SUMMARY: Senior Manager, Compliance Investigations oversees a team responsible for completing complaint and supervisory investigations, including oversight of investigatory steps, complaint adjudication, settlement negotiations with clients, and follow up of issues raised in each case. The Senior Manager, Compliance Investigations is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to staff on sensitive issues, managing resources, ensuring consistent protocols and guidelines are applied, identifying trends and recommending process/ policy improvements and corrective actions. This role will also manage responses to regulatory investigations related to client complaints, including inquiries about Advisor conduct and supervisory issues and controls. 

 

 DUTIES INCLUDE:

Manage, coach and prioritize case volumes for a team of Investigators, Senior Compliance Specialists and Administrators in responding to and resolving client complaints and internal investigations.

Review of casework completed by the investigations team to ensure appropriate resolution and completeness of the review.

Report on apparent trends or recurring deficiencies and appropriate corrective actions. Identify and implement process improvements.

Respond to regulator (CIRO, CSF, AMF, OBSI) inquiries related to compliance investigations. Conduct appropriate research and investigation into issues questioned by regulators. Correspond with Advisors, Division Managers, and Regional Vice Presidents as necessary to obtain information and explanations in order to provide full and complete written reports in response to regulatory inquiries.

Develop effective relationships with Clients, Advisors, Distribution Leadership, Regulators and other key stakeholders to ensure the timely resolution of client complaints.

Attend regulatory hearings and/or other hearings as a Subject Matter Witness when required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 10 years of experience in a financial services environment

Leadership experience, preferably including staff performance, development, and coaching.

Post-secondary degree in a relevant business discipline

Completion of Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and other industry related certifications are considered an asset.

Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation or other related designations are considered an asset.

Knowledge of the financial services industry, including understanding of Provincial Securities Acts and the bylaws, insurance councils, regulations and policies of CIRO, AMF, CSF and other regulators.

Superior problem solving, decision-making and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task in a deadline-oriented environment.

Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in the French language (speaking, reading and writing) is mandatory.

Knowledge of French and English is required to support clients and Team members within and/ or outside the province of Quebec.

Investors Group Securities Inc.  (IGSI) is an investment dealer registered in all Canadian jurisdictions with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO).  As a securities dealer, IGSI offers a broad range of investment products including equities, fixed income, money market instruments and mutual funds to support gathering and consolidating assets within IG Wealth Management.  IGSI operates a Trade Centre that supports the IGSI account inquiries and registered trade activity on behalf of our internal and external clients.      

 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Senior Specialist supports Wealth Planning Specialists, IGSI Consultants and internal departments through the accurate and efficient execution of trades through their broad knowledge on products, services, procedures and regulatory requirements of the company and the industry.  There is one bilingual position that will be filled in Montreal or Winnipeg.

 

DUTIES INCLUDE:

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED: Currently licensed as Investment Representative (IR) with IIROC or has completed the CSI Canadian Securities Course (CSC) in the last 3 years and is willing to take the CSI Conduct and Practice Handbook Course (CPH) within 30 days from the start date

REQUIRED: Bilingual (English and French)

Minimum of 2 to 4 years’ experience in the financial services industry

Post-secondary education in a related field

Strong oral communication skills

Proven problem-solving methodology

Accuracy, attention to detail and organization skills required

Knowledge of French and English is required to support clients and Team members within and/ or outside the province of Quebec.

The Opportunity

The External Transfer In group at IG Wealth Management is looking for a Coordinator to join our team. Process Management and Administration provides administrative and servicing support for multiple lines of business including Mortgages, Insurance, IGFS, IGFS Nominee and IGSI and provides administrative processing and servicing support to IGM clients, Consultant Network, Planning Specialists and Regional Offices and other areas.

Financial industry experience: 1-2 years of financial industry experience, and a passion for creating and delivering outstanding customer experiences.  Familiarity with back-office data processes, procedures, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Fundserv, PlatformZero, TreX, and RBroker operating systems.

Relationship management: Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with your teams, peers, and business partners across the company both in person and in a virtual environment.  Must be highly engaged, displaying a professional attitude, with strong customer orientation.

Position Overview:

The Senior Manager, Learning & Development will lead the design, development and implementation of learning strategies on behalf of Client Services and Operations divisions at IGM Financial through innovative learning experiences. With demonstrated thought leadership and experience in instructional design and adult learning models, the Senior Manager will lead the skills development programs to support a rapidly changing workplace. The Senior Manager will play a lead consulting role and will collaborate with business partners to deliver an engaging and enhanced employee learning experience. This role plays a critical function in designing and establishing the onboarding programs within the division, upskilling to support career progression and training for various changes driven by industry, transformation to ultimately deliver a strong client experience. Responsibilities:

Provide strong leadership and decision-making capabilities – Oversees the day-to-day tasks and responsibilities of the Learning & Development team to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of duties. Adult learning theories and models – Researches industry and regulatory tends in programming and maintains a solid understanding of the adult learning principles, motivation theories and models that inform and shape the design of learning experiences. Senior Analyst – Mortgage Credit, Policy, and Governance

In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing credit exceptions, managing escalations, and overseeing quality assurance activities. You will ensure the effective execution and governance of lending policies and guidelines. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and driving continuous improvement within the department.

 

Responsibilities:

Lending Policy & Governance:

Perform research on regulatory changes, market trends, and competitor policies to assist in updating lending policies and guidelines.

Monitor and report on credit adjudication methodologies, appraisal matrices, and insurer programs.

Coordinate governance processes to ensure alignment across stakeholder groups on lending policies and guidelines.

Communicate changes in lending policies, risk appetite, and credit authority limits to all stakeholders.

Requirements:
