ECON 27R – Economist – (98831)

The Health Sector Information, Analysis and Reporting Division (HSIAR) sets the foundation for the delivery of high-quality health sector information, analytics and reporting. HSIAR sets out to exercise effective governance over data resources, while enabling timely and secure access to data, supporting an integrated, modernized model of information sharing across the health sector. The Division leads the overarching provincial analytic strategy and approach, and performs comprehensive, integrated analytics, research and evaluation of health sector performance. 

As an Economist, you will implement complex statistical analysis and economic modelling projects, and advise senior executives on matters directly impacting goals, objectives and financial commitments of a ministry or Government.

Job Requirements:
•    Master’s Degree in Economics or closely related field such as statistics, commerce, computer science, or mathematics AND a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience(within the last five years); OR
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or closely related field such as statistics, commerce, computer science, or mathematics AND a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience(within the last five years).

An independent administrative tribunal, the Agricultural Land Commission (ALC) is the provincial body responsible for administering the provincial Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR), governed by the Agricultural Land Commission Act (ALCA) and Agricultural Land Reserve Use Regulation. The Commission is hosted by a Ministry of the provincial government; however, the work of the ALC is carried out by an independent governmentappointed Chair and board of directors who report directly to the legislature via the host minister. The work of the Commission is supported by a team of technical and professional staff.

Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services (YFPS) is mandated to provide inpatient and outpatient Court-ordered and Court-related assessment and treatment services to young persons pursuant to the Youth Criminal Justice Act as well as other relevant federal and provincial statutes. YFPS also provides services to young persons found unfit to stand trial and those youth found not criminally responsible due to a mental disorder (NCRMD), pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada.
