Role Overview:

As a VP, Investment Product & Advancement, you will play a critical role in shaping and enhancing the organization’s investment product offerings. Your responsibilities will span across product innovation, strategic planning, and operational efficiency. You’ll collaborate with investment teams, sales distribution and stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives. As a senior member of the team, this individual acts as the primary liaison between investment management, distribution, affiliate managers and other internal and external business partners to help shape the investment suite and will have frequent interactions with executive and senior leadership team members throughout the organization.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Product Strategy, Management and Innovation:

Take ownership, inspire consensus, and balance strategic vision with tactical execution. Navigate effectively between creativity and discipline in managing product suite

Develop and present business cases for new investment products including overseeing competitor analysis, market intelligence and sizing

Interface with investment teams, sales distribution and stakeholders to drive product innovation.

Collaborate with portfolio managers/sub-advisors to assess the fit of investment products within the firm’s investment platform and client portfolios

Lead with the product development team to ideate and design new investment products that align with client needs and strategic priorities

Stewardship of the product suite to ensure it meet market demands, client needs and addresses evolving trends

Collaborate to manage the execution of launches from business acceptance through to delivery by effectively partnering with senior Operations, Finance, Distribution and Marketing stakeholders to drive implementation.

Oversee strategic product restructuring initiatives.  Provide solutions beyond regularly defined services.

Serve as the senior member of the team, including management of junior/mid-level team members.  Build strong relationships with internal teams across the business.

2. Sales Support and Client Engagement:

Present at team meetings and to clients, providing subject matter expertise.

Support sales, relationship management, and client service teams with client presentations and product updates

Lead a team supporting a new function dedicated to developing and producing engaging content related to investment strategies, market insights, and financial products

Collaborate within the team to communicate investment performance, fund updates, and regulatory changes (where required)

3. Risk Management and Compliance:

Understand inherent risks of investment funds, including related investment strategies and securities.

Stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and regulatory changes that impact the competitiveness of existing solutions.

Lead the team in proactively improving products and reducing risk the product suite

Qualifications:

Minimum 7 (10 years preferred) years’ experience in investment product development and/or global product structuring with minimum 3 years’ experience in structuring alternative investment solutions (private and/or liquid)

Knowledge of Canadian, U.S. and Europe-domiciled investment product related vehicles including a working knowledge of investment strategies and styles employed by fixed income, equity and alternative portfolio managers is required

Knowledge of pool fund trusts, limited partnerships, LLCs, offshore feeders, UCITs is preferred

Understanding of operational aspects of alternative product development, such as capital call process, etc.

Strong knowledge of investment industry services and distribution channels.

People management experience. Ability to build relationships with teams across the organization, excellent interpersonal skills, working effectively with individuals across cultures, functions and levels of seniority.

Education: Relevant degree (e.g., Bachelor’s, MBA) in Finance, Business, Economics, or related fields.

Desired Skills: Advisor channels, managed account platforms, investment products, and capital markets.

Certifications: FRM, CAIA, CIPM, or CFA would be beneficial, but not required

Department Overview: The Advisor Payroll and Compensation Programs is a key department within Human Resources at IG Wealth Management. Our team provides support for our compensation programs and possesses knowledge of various products across multiple platforms. We offer administrative processing and servicing support to our Sales and Distribution channel and work in partnership with various internal business partners.

 

Position Summary: As a member of the Advisor Payroll and Compensation Programs team, you will be responsible for responding to requests received. You will research, analyze, and resolve compensation issues related to products and services available to advisors. In this role, you will handle a variety of tasks including order processing, communications, financial transactions, quality control, and reporting. You are expected to uphold high standards of accuracy, timeliness, and accountability.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Research and respond to incoming emails and phone calls.

Pinpoint opportunities to enhance accuracy and efficiency within Advisor Services

Analyze intricate issues to identify root causes and implement effective solutions, including performing manual calculations and reconciliations.

Review, calculate, and process compensation and remit deductions.

Support T4A’s and Relevé 1’s inquiries related to commissionable earnings

Collaborate with team members to verify, import, and process data from spreadsheets provided by external suppliers and internal departments, ensuring accurate allocation of Advisor earnings. Work together to meet tight deadlines and complete processing within the scheduled payment cycle.

Act as a liaison with internal partners, ensuring swift and effective action to Advisor inquiries, and fostering strong collaborative relationships.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of experience in a financial services environment as an Asset.

Experience with financial or payroll systems along with strong PC skills working with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, and Access).

Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail in a timely manner.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Additional Information:

Hours of Work: Availability between 7:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Overtime may be requested during peak periods

We are currently looking for a Senior Compliance Specialist to join our Compliance Supervision – Practice Management Team.

The mandate of the Compliance Department is to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements affecting investment dealers, including rules, policies, and by-laws of the self-regulatory organization of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO), provincial securities commissions, insurance commissions/councils and other regulators. The Department works closely with Distribution Leadership and other management to develop appropriate corporate policies, identifies, and promotes good business practices, executes business review programs to monitor sales practices, manages client complaint resolution processes and conducts branch examination programs

 

Position Summary:  The Senior Compliance Specialist will assist the Compliance Supervision Tier 1 team by performing initial reviews and risk assessments of various activities and reports across multiple compliance programs. They will identify, investigate, and report compliance issues, irregularities, and violations to the appropriate compliance manager. Additionally, they will support the daily compliance-related tasks of the broader Compliance Supervision team as needed.

 

Duties Include:

Assist in the maintenance and administration of compliance reports and reporting as they relate to the Tier 1 Compliance Supervision Team

Execute preliminary reviews of compliance related data using a risk-based approach across various platforms and escalate items of risk to the appropriate Manager for further review and assessment

Participate in internal compliance reviews or external regulatory audits conducted in head office or Branch/Sub-Branch office locations

Qualification:

4+ years of experience in a financial services environment

Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant business discipline

Completion of and/or commitment to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC), Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) and Investment Dealer Supervisors Course (IDSC) within a specified timeframe  

In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry, including a strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements

Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.  Well-developed organization and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize, perform multiple tasks, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines with limited supervision.

Demonstrated proficiency in PC applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, SharePoint and Teams, agile in learning new systems

Strong ability to exercise judgement and maintain confidentiality

Must have a positive attitude and collaborative approach to teamwork

Bilingual (French) would be considered a strong asset

The Role

We are currently looking for Quality Management Program Lead to join our IGM Technology – Quality Management team as part of IGM Financial.

 

How You Will Succeed

Plan and estimate program-sized project work specific to quality management needs.
Understand the product, identify key functionalities, and provide effective guidance on test case design to ensure high quality.
Work with the team to analyze business and system requirements through formal or informal reviews to determine System Test criteria and govern the approach to the test effort required.
Ensure quality assurance processes, practices, and tools are known and followed.
Prepare training material to train testing team members on quality standards and procedures.
Design the overall test strategy for the program.
Create the overall test plan, test schedules, roadmaps and test exit reports.
Design test automation and code quality strategies, including Functional, Integration, and Performance tests.
Manage multiple quality management teams/business representatives/3rd party resources on large scale programs.
Monitor the overall testing progress of the program, with a particular focus on Integration testing.
Perform risk assessment analysis and provide recommendations for improvement.
Clear and effective communication to peers, stakeholders and executives, both verbally and in writing by creating dashboards and matrices to communicate program testing status and updates.
Run IGM defect management controls for large programs, including the analysis and determination of defects’ priority and severity.
Create Test Exit report

POSITION SUMMARY:   

The Senior Compliance Specialist reviews trade activity through daily and monthly reporting, analyzing transactions to identify trends and patterns to detect deficiencies and risks. In addition, the Senior Compliance Specialist may perform ad hoc analysis and reporting in response to specific inquiries from leadership.

 

DUTIES INCLUDE:

Using a risk-based approach, review the compliance dashboard in transact on a daily basis for the purpose of assessing suitability and reasonability of trades.

Identify unusual trends through the analysis of daily and monthly trade reports requiring the application of various skill sets including a strong understanding of sales practices, regulatory requirements, compensation and financial planning principles.

Identify items of interest and bring forward to the Tier 1 Compliance Managers and other compliance partners as needed.

Mentor and provide guidance to staff on unusual, sensitive and escalated cases, and determine appropriate corrective action plans.

Active involvement in projects and other compliance initiatives.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

4+ years experience in the securities/mutual fund industry, preferably with exposure to a compliance environment.

Completion of a post-secondary degree in a relevant business discipline

Must be willing to agree to complete courses for Supervisor registration with CIRO.

Sound knowledge and experience with various types of investment products and investment platforms.

Demonstrated proficiency in effective verbal and written communication across various organizational levels.

Strong communication skills in English. French communication skills would be an asset.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and deal with interruptions while working within strict deadlines.

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access as well as internal IG client systems (SAS, Transact, Advisor Portal, Trex)
