Position
We are currently hiring an intern looking for a winter term position, January to April 2026.  Candidates must be in an undergraduate or graduate program that will be returning to school after the internship to be eligible to apply.
 
Located in our Toronto or Winnipeg office, the IT Risk team is critical part of IG Wealth Management / Mackenzie Investments (IGM Financial).  Reporting to the Director of Cybersecurity Services, the Intern candidate’s core responsibilities will include:
 

Primary focus will be on ad-hoc projects or support of organizational projects in-flight

Create documentation (how-to guides, communications, procedures, etc.)

Analysis of documents (vendor and internal), datasets, logs, etc.

Write threat intelligence briefs based on security events disclosures in the news media, and research impact of newly discovered information security publications

 
The following qualifications are required of the successful candidate:
 

Enrolled in a post-secondary education program in a relevant technology discipline or designation/certification, or bring transferable skills and general knowledge of technology
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing and delivering presentations with impact
Proactive and self-motivated with strong attention to detail, problem solving, prioritization and organizational abilities
Demonstrable experience with MS Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, advanced functionality), and PowerPoint
Passion and interest in Technology, IT Risk, and Cybersecurity preferred
Proven collaboration and facilitation skills with cross-functional teams

Position
The successful candidate will join the Reporting & Analytics team within the Business Management Office. As a team we provide analytical and reporting services that help assess Technology service performance and overall user experience. We design and manage a robust reporting framework and supporting processes that enable effective analytics. We understand Technology challenges and opportunities and identify valuable data points to help drive out actionable insights. We collaborate closely with Technology teams to finalize valuable insights and create effective presentations to communicate the findings to different groups of stakeholders.
 
Responsibilities: 

Contribute to designing and building our analytics solution (dashboards, KPI’s)
Assist in designing and preparing impactful executive PowerPoint presentations
Assist in preparing and delivering recurring operational reports (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly)
Document and improve our existing processes; automating recurring tasks
Modernize our SharePoint team sites

 
Requirements:

Knowledge of business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI)
Knowledge of data management tools (Microsoft SQL Server, SAP HANA)
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, OneNote)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of ITIL and ITSM processes and IT Service Management tools (ServiceNow) an asset
Knowledge creating and managing SharePoint sites an asset

Developing and maintaining IT Risk and Security Advisory documents and libraries
Assessing technology risk associated with 3rd party vendors, policy non-conformities and technology changes
Identifying and analyze data to evaluate effectiveness of security controls
Organizing and triaging incoming work
Supporting monthly and quarterly risk reporting activities
Providing support for internal audit and compliance reviews

 
The following qualifications are required of the successful candidate:
