LIBRN 24R – Senior Law Librarian* – (100451)

The Attorney General is the legal advisor to the government of British Columbia and is charged with ensuring that the administration of public affairs is carried out in accordance with the law. The Ministry of Attorney General is structured to carry out this mandate under the direction of the Attorney General, and Legal Services Branch (LSB) supports the Ministry in fulfilling this mandate by serving as legal advisor to government in civil law matters. LSB provides legal advice to government and ensures that legal risks associated with government operations are reduced. LSB’s clients include all ministries of the government, Cabinet and certain public agencies.

CPO 15R Justice Interviewer – (101804)

Family Justice Services Division (FJSD) delivers programs and services that promote the timely and just resolution of family disputes within a comprehensive family justice system. Through community-based Justice Access Centres and Family Justice Centres, FJSD provides various in person and virtual programs and services, including initial needs determination, dispute resolution, Section 211 Family Law Act reports, and Parenting After Separation online courses.

Your ability to deal with issues of a sensitive and confidential nature with tact, diplomacy and good judgment will prepare you to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding work environment. 

LG CNSL 1 – Legal Counsel – Amended – (101043)

Lawyers in the Legal Services Branch discharge the duties and functions assigned to the Attorney General under the Attorney General Act. Legal Counsel 1 represent the Attorney, the Province and other government associated persons and entities in all levels of court. Legal Counsel 1 are expected to negotiate and recommend settlements where appropriate and provide litigation-related advice in every area of government practice. The work of a Legal Counsel 1 involves matters of a confidential and sensitive nature.

LG CNSL 3 – Legal Counsel – Amended – (100689)

The ministry works to keep communities safe and provide certainty, proportionality and, above all, fairness when dealing with criminal, civil and family law matters and to protect people, especially those who are most vulnerable.

The Family Justice Report Service (FJRS) provides court ordered assessments completed by a provincial team of Family Justice Counsellors dedicated and specifically trained to this work. The Justice Interviewer (Interviewer), FJRS plays a key role in performing initial needs determination in a service delivery area that often involves complex issues and high conflict families. This service is delivered by phone using an integrated telephone/software system and in person.
