Role overview:
In the senior technology and project management- focused role, you’ll lead the planning, reviewing, and assessing of connectivity projects as part of the Connecting Communities BC program, helping bring high-speed internet to every household in BC by 2027. Your expertise in project management will be crucial as you monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure that each project stays on track. You’ll also handle technical assessments and negotiations, working closely with communities to help them achieve their digital goals. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Degree (or higher) in telecommunications, engineering, computer science or a related field AND a minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience. 
  • Telecommunication industry experience (this includes: requirements gathering, network architecture, and systems engineering for voice, cellular and LAN/WLAN/WAN services).
  • Experience in a project management-focused role within the telecommunications industry. 
  • Experience with project management principles and deliverables, including risk registers, issues logs, and project execution tracking.
  • Experience architecting telecommunication solutions to meet specific business needs – for voice, cellular and LAN/WLAN/WAN data services.
  • Experience writing and executing telecommunications business plans.
  • Experience with partnership engagement and consultation. 
     

Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:

  • Preference may be given to applicants with experience in the context of multi-party projects that require building trust with multiple and diverse stakeholders and managing influence.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with project management certifications.

About this Position:
Amendment September 11, 2024: Posting closing date extended to September 19, 2024.
The position headquarters will be Victoria, Surrey, Vancouver, Richmond and Prince George.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to five (5) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
