The Community and Social Innovation Team is a dedicated group focused on working with Indigenous peoples to drive community development and wellness initiatives. With over a decade of experience, this well-established team leads cross-government and community-based efforts to close the socio-economic gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.

The Role
This opportunity involves providing essential administrative support to the team, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and handling correspondence. The work you’ll be supporting directly impacts community wellness by facilitating projects that range from building cultural facilities to supporting social sector development initiatives.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent combination of education, training and experience supplemented by completion of office administration or other relevant courses, i.e. business, secretarial; AND
  •  Minimum one year related administrative/secretarial experience.

RELATED ADMINISTRATIVE/ SECRETARIAL EXPERIENCE MUST INCLUDE:

  • Experience drafting correspondence independently and from written and verbal instructions;
  • Experience arranging meetings and making travel arrangements;
  • Experience responding to a variety of inquiries and requests for information from the public and/or private sector;
  • Experience maintaining databases and filing systems;
  • Experience using standard computer technology, i.e. Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet; 
  • Experience processing financial materials.

PREFERENCE MAY BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WITH:

  • Experience with government financial policies and procedures.
  • Experience with editing briefing notes in accordance with government standards.
  • Experience working with CLIFF, Time and Leave, CAS ORACLE, iExpense, ARCS and ORCS.
  • Experience establishing, developing and maintaining high standards and procedures in office administration.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until 05/26/2025. This position may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
