The Team
The Indigenous Core Policing and Contract Management Division superintends, administers oversees the Police Service Agreements (Provincial Police Service Agreement, Municipal Police Service Agreement and Municipal Police Unit Agreement) pertaining to Core Policing administration/programs/initiatives, the Indigenous Policing Program Agreements (Framework Agreement, Community Tripartite Agreement, Self-Administered Policing Agreement, and Enhanced Policing Agreement), including program administration. The Division has responsibility for policy and program administration as well as stakeholder engagement on a variety of policing related issues and leads and oversees Police Model Transitions. The Division consists of about 25 staff.
The Role
As the Executive Director of the Indigenous, Core Policing and Contract Management Division, you will play a key role in supporting the Policing and Security Branch’s mission. Working alongside the Deputy Director, Indigenous Core Policing and Contract Management, you’ll lead a diverse team of leaders and staff to superintend and ensure adequate and effective policing in BC and oversee management and delivery of RCMP policing agreements at the National, Provincial, Municipal and community levels. Your work will contribute to the advancement of Indigenous policing programs and services and will facilitate transitions in policing models. As part of the executive team, you’ll help shape policies and programs that govern policing across British Columbia, making a meaningful impact on community safety and well-being. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Relevant post-secondary education (such as Public Administration, Social Sciences, Economics, Criminology or related field) and 4 years or more of progressively more responsible management experience in strategic, business and operational planning.
- 5 years or more experience facilitating issues in a highly sensitive milieu, setting priorities and making decisions between high profile and competing needs.
- 3 years or more experience working with a diverse constituency and leading and supervising staff.
- 2 years or more experience leading major projects or initiatives.
- Experience working with policing legislation, regulations, policies, and programs in British Columbia.
- Preference may be given to applicants with experience working with or having knowledge of police agencies and provincial/municipal policing agreements.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work a few days at home per week subject to an approved Telework Agreement.
