The Team
The Communications Team is a collaborative and established group within Court Services Branch, consisting of two Communications Officers and a Senior Writer. The team plays a crucial role in ensuring that both the public and internal staff are well-informed about important changes and services. The team works closely with Government Communications & Public Engagement, senior leadership, and the Deputy’s office. This work unit supports three divisions within the branch, making it a key contributor to effective and inclusive communication across the branch.

The Role
In this role, you will provide strategic communications support to the ADM and senior management, focusing on planning, partner engagement, and managing both internal and public-facing content. You will play a key role in navigating communication challenges within a diverse branch that supports court operations and access to justice, offering a unique opportunity to engage frontline staff in meaningful ways. This position is ideal for those who are excited about finding innovative communication strategies that make a real impact in serving the public and enhancing access to justice.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

•    Degree or Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, English or in a related field and minimum 2 years of experience in Communications Management, OR
•    A combination of education and a minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Communications Management may be considered. 
•    Minimum five (5) years of progressive public relations/corporate communications or media experience in a medium to large public or private sector organization, including:  strategic communications planning, development and implementation; media or public relations; issues management; and professional writing/product development.  
•    Experience with direct responsibility for developing and coordinating the internal/external communications functions of a complex corporate or public-sector organization.
•    Minimum one (1) year program or project management experience including activities such as planning, developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluation. 
•    Minimum one (1) year experience leading work teams or supervising employees including developing and evaluating performance goals, coaching, team building, and managing contracts. 

Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:
•    More years of experience (as noted above).
•    Justice sector experience.

Provisos /Willingness statements
•    Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver’s License. Some travel may be required. 
•    May be required to work irregular hours.
