An integral member of a multi-disciplinary Community Mental Health Team and in coordination with other community agencies and professionals, you provide a range of mental health services to children, youth and their families, when the child or youth is suffering from serious emotional, psychological, behavioral or psychiatric illness.
MCFD’s community-based Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) teams work in partnership with families and communities to foster positive mental health outcomes and well-being for children and youth, and their families.
The Eating Disorders Team for South Vancouver Island is unique within CYMH as the team provides eating disorders services to all ages, inclusive of adults, which will provides a unique and professionally rewarding experience.Eating Disorder Clinicians provide direct clinical services in the treatment of eating disorders such as intake, assessment, treatment, suicide risk assessment, safety plans and crisis intervention for children, youth, adults, and their families. Clinicians work in flexible ways, including in home, school and community settings. Through consultation, the Eating Disorder Clinician will build and maintain relationships to support coordinated services and positive outcomes for children, youth, adults, and families.

Job Requirements:
- Masters in Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master’s level, or equivalent.
- NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
- Minimum of one year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
- Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver’s license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).
Preference may be given to applicants with one or more the following:
- Two years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
- Minimum one year experience providing family counselling services.
- Minimum one year of training and/or experience working with eating disorders.
- Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.
