Description

The Team
The Programs Team of the correctional centre has a primary goal of ensuring that programs, services, leisure, and work opportunities for inmates are provided in a meaningful and sustainable way. Team members deliver evidence-based programs aimed at helping inmates make decisions that support their health, wellness, and an overall goal of becoming productive members of their communities upon release from custody.

The Programs Team works collaboratively with contractors, health service providers, outside agencies, and special interest groups to establish services and activities that enrich inmates’ lives and support personal growth and positive change. Members of the team also attend community events on behalf of the correctional centre and actively seek to build new or maintain existing relationships with community-based organizations and service providers. Highly adaptable and creative, the Programs Team often provides guidance and support to community-based facilitators and service providers to ensure that programs and services run safely and effectively.
