The Team
The Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services (YFPS) team is committed to providing specialized mental health assessment and treatment services to youth involved in the justice system. With a focus on supporting youth under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and the Criminal Code of Canada, the team works across outpatient clinics, contracted service providers, and an Inpatient Assessment Unit in Burnaby, Langley, Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo, Prince George, Kamloops and Kelowna servicing the five macro regions of the North, the Interior, the Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland and the South Burnaby. This collaborative and multidisciplinary team plays a vital role in addressing the mental health, behavioral, and addiction challenges faced by youth, fostering pathways toward rehabilitation and well-being in communities across British Columbia.
The Role
As an Office Assistant with Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services, you will provide vital administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the team. Working under the direction of the Regional Office Administrator, your role includes managing reception, maintaining clinical records, processing confidential reports for Youth Court and Probation, and assisting with data entry and special projects. This position is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful work supporting youth and their rehabilitation journey within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED)
- 1-year administrative support/secretarial experience, or equivalent education and training
- Experience/training in keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheet and other standard computer-based applications
- Current certification of 50 words per minute keyboarding speed and dicta typing
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Experience in word processing medico-legal documentation
- Dicta-typing experience
