POSITION SUMMARY
Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.
The Human Resource Operations department is seeking a knowledgeable payroll professional with strong supervisory skills for the position of Payroll and Benefits Supervisor. This is an auxiliary full-time position to provide coverage while the incumbent participates on a project team dedicated to implementing a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Under the direction of the Payroll and Benefits Manager and as a member of the Human Resource Operations team, the Payroll and Benefits Supervisor oversees the timely, accurate and effective delivery of payroll and benefit services to client groups of approximately 700 people. This role provides day to day support and direction to the payroll team and participates in a variety of process improvement initiatives and projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be/have:
- Post-secondary education in business, accounting, or a related program, plus at least 3 years of payroll experience (including at a supervisory level), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
- Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation and/or Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation are considered an asset.
- Experience using and/or implementing Enterprise Resource Planning software is considered an asset.
