The Team
The Payment & Client Services team is a high-performing, collaborative group responsible for supporting government banking and payment services. With 12 dedicated professionals, the team ensures the financial control and client service functions needed to manage revenue collection and post-production payment processes across government.
The Role
As a Financial Analyst, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of daily Treasury business operations, supporting cheque and electronic payment transactions across all ministries. This position is central to the delivery of sensitive and essential payments—particularly those serving vulnerable British Columbians—making your contributions impactful, fast-paced, and deeply meaningful.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Diploma in the field of financial management, such as Level 1 or 2 of the Financial Management Certificate Program, or CPA, and 1-year related experience; OR
- Certificate or coursework in financial management and 2 years related experience; OR
- Secondary School graduation (Dogwood, GED) and 3 years related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Related experience must include each of the following:
- Experience preparing, analysing and monitoring performance information, financial controls, developing and documenting financial procedures.
- Experience providing a high level of customer service and liaising with stakeholders, customers and/or banking representatives.
- Experience in working in a team environment.
- Recent experience in working in financial operations and using corporate policy & procedures and financial controls.
Preference may be given:
- Experience working with government financial systems including the Corporate Financial System
- Recent work experience in a Canadian Financial Institution
- Experience working in government financial operations.

About this Position:
2 Temporary opportunities are currently available in Victoria.
This is a temporary opportunity until 12/31/2025. This position may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
