PURPOSE OF POSITION
Reporting to the Specialist, Marketing Automation, the Coordinator, Marketing Automation supports the planning, implementation, and optimization of automated marketing workflows, email campaigns, and data-driven digital experiences. This role requires a strong understanding of traveller segments, enabling effective support of multi-channel marketing programs and ensuring smooth execution of marketing initiatives across email, web, and other digital channels, while maintaining alignment with Destination BC’s brand, marketing, and digital strategies.
The Coordinator, Marketing Automation collaborates with cross-functional teams, including the Technology team, to support marketing automation programs through data segmentation and data management that enhance targeting efforts. Responsibilities include project management of the marketing automation schedule (web and email), managing project timelines, conducting quality assurance (QA), and analyzing and sharing performance data results to support continuous improvement.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assists in the implementation and monitoring of marketing programs and workflows. This includes email audience segmentation, trigger programs, personalization, testing, data analysis and reporting for Destination BC’s B2C global email activities such as e-newsletters, email campaigns, trigger campaigns including email journeys and optimization;
- Support the development and management of a coherent user journey for the segments and/or brands assigned across Destination BC’s digital channels, including web, email, and native applications;
- Project manager of the email schedule, ensuring the deployment of timely and targeted email communication.
- Applies a working knowledge of web and email writing best practices to support the creation and management of web-based landing pages and audience segments and online user journeys;
- Works closely with the Creative team on the development of content that fuels marketing automation requirement and meets the objectives of the relevant brand, marketing, and digital strategies for each of the digital channels they are responsible for;
- Performs QA on email templates, forms, and landing pages to ensure accuracy and functionality;
- Monitors email deliverability, including working with inbox deliverability tools;
- Monitor, analyze and report on key email performance metrics, such as open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates, providing actionable recommendations for optimization. May include a variety of channel-specific metrics including email contact frequency, email delivery, bounce, and unsubscribe rates, web visitation and time on page data, native application usage, and App store ratings and reviews;
- Coordinates with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of marketing assets;
- Helps maintain Destination BC’s marketing automation platforms, including configuration, user management, and troubleshooting;
- Contributes to the development of training materials and provides support for internal teams using marketing automation platforms as well as the email marketing program content management system;
- Stays current with emerging marketing automation trends and technologies, sharing insights with the team to enhance Destination BC’s capabilities;
- Other duties as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Degree or diploma in marketing, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in digital marketing, with a focus on email marketing and/or marketing automation and CRM system. Experience with SalesForce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) is an asset.
- Experience in web content management using a CMS.
- Experience in CRM database management and data analysis.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage schedules, timelines, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Comfortable providing training or support to internal teams on digital tools or platforms.
- Preference for experience with analytics tools, such as Google Analytics (GA4).
- An understanding of user journey mapping, customer experience strategy, and how digital channels interact with each other to create seamless digital experiences.
