The Team
The Services to Adults (STA) Legal Department is an established, fast-paced team dedicated to serving the needs of vulnerable and incapable adults. The team consists of four lawyers, one paralegal, and a supportive network of legal and administrative assistants. Collaboration is key, as you’ll work closely with various roles, including case managers, regional managers, estate liaison officers, and external organizations. The Role
As a Legal Assistant in the Services to Adults Division, you will provide essential administrative support to in-house counsel, working collaboratively with other team members to deliver seamless and compassionate services for vulnerable and incapable adults. Reporting to the Administrative Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring efficiency and accuracy in a dynamic legal environment. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while contributing to an inclusive and supportive workplace.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent.
  • Experience providing administrative support in a legal office

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Completion or partial completion of a recognized legal assistant program
  • Completion or partial completion of a recognized paralegal program
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a legal assistant or paralegal
  • Applicants who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations status or non-status, Inuit and/or Metis), with the required combination of education and experience.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity from April 1st, 2025 to March 31st, 2026. This position may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
Enhanced Security Screening will be required.
