The Team
The Community Gaming Grants (CGG) branch supports volunteer-led not-for-profit organizations throughout British Columbia, providing funding for inclusive programs that enhance quality of life and foster community engagement. CGG offers three grant funding streams and support services to ensure equitable access to resources and promote resilience in the sector. The team of 20 is developing a modernized online application system to streamline the process and improve accessibility. CGG collaborates with other ministries, contributing to 250 communities and supporting diverse sectors including Arts and Culture, Sport, Public Safety, Environment, and Human and Social Services.

The Role
As the Manager, Audit and Reconciliation you will step into this new role where you lead a team of audit staff but are also directly responsible for assessing the decisions rendered on applications submitted for reconsideration.  A blend of analytical skills, people skills and an innate sense of administrative fairness pervades your daily work environment. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this position will provide subject matter expertise and support to the Community Gaming Grants branch. 

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations, and policy in complex situations.

  • Experience working with large volumes of files.

  • Experience managing client relationships with external stakeholders and partners. 

  • Two (2) years’ experience in a compliance role.

  • One (1) year experience supervising staff.
     

 Preference may given to candidates who have: 

  • Completion of (or working towards) a recognized accounting designation CPA (formerly CA, CGA, CMA). 

  • Recent experience interpreting and applying legislation, regulations, and government policy. 

  • Recent experience in management of professional staff.

  • Other relevant education, such as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
     

Proviso 

  • Travel within BC and working extended hours and possibly weekends are a requirement. 

  • Valid class 5 BC driver’s license.

About this Position:
