The Team
The Vanderhoof Community Corrections team is a group of dedicated professionals committed to making a meaningful impact in their community. This established team includes Probation Officers, Administrative staff, and a Local Manager, who collaborate closely with justice partners such as the local RCMP, Crown Counsel, court staff, and community agencies. The team fosters a respectful and supportive environment that values teamwork, making it a rewarding place to grow and contribute.
The Role
As the first point of contact in a community corrections office, you’ll play a key role in creating a respectful and inclusive space for all visitors and staff. This position provides confidential administrative support, manages electronic records and files, and assists with financial tasks. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary School graduation.
- A minimum of 6 months of related experience working in a clerical, secretarial, receptionist or administrative support role.
- Minimum of 30 words per minute (WPM) in keyboarding.
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Successful completion of a post-secondary certificate, program or course in office administration.
- Experience working in an office setting providing services within the Justice System (Court Services, Correctional Centre, BC Prosecution Services, Youth Justice, legal office, justice focused non-profit).

This position is part time (52.5 hours biweekly)
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
Vanderhoof is home to the Kenney Dam and sits on the Nechako River, in the flat spot between the BC coastline and the Rocky Mountain Range. Vanderhoof hosts events all year long, including hockey and golf tournaments.
A Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) and Enhanced Security Screening will be required.
