The Team
The Terrace Community Corrections team is a close-knit group of probation officers committed to making a meaningful impact in their community. This well-established team works in strong partnership with local justice and community organizations, playing a vital role in advancing new program areas and staying at the forefront of developments in the justice field. Their collaborative approach and strong team support make them leaders within the justice community.
The Role
The Office Manager plays a key role in the smooth functioning of Port Coquitlam Community Corrections by overseeing reception services, data entry, and office operations. This position provides mentorship and supervision to two administrative assistants, fostering skill development and teamwork. As the first point of contact for many clients, the Office Manager sets a positive, respectful tone and helps support the work of Probation Officers, indirectly contributing to community safety. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values diversity, and is eager to make a meaningful impact through leadership and innovation.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary School graduation and one year of related experience working in a clerical, secretarial, receptionist or administrative support role;
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
- Minimum keyboard speed of 30 words per minute;
- A valid Class 5 B.C. driver’s license without restrictions or an equivalent Canadian driver’s license is required. A valid BC Class 7 may be considered.
Preferred Requirements:
- Supervisory experience.
- More than one (1) year of related experience working in a clerical, secretarial, receptionist or administrative support role.
- Completion of a post-secondary certificate, program or course in office administration.
- Experience working in an office setting providing services within the Justice System (Court Services, Correctional Centre, BC Prosecution Services, Youth Justice, legal office, justice focused non-profit).
- Experience using Cornet and/or Justin.
Provisos /Willingness statement(s):
- Willing to serve adult clients who may have multiple legal, health, social, and/or mental health needs and/or clients who have committed or alleged to have committed criminal acts including intimate partner violence or sexually motivated offences.
