The Role
As a Wildfire Financial Services Clerk, you’ll be responsible for processing accounts payable, reviewing financial records, supporting payroll documentation, and providing administrative support to procurement. Your work helps ensure that clients, staff, and communities receive accurate and timely service—an essential part of BC Wildfire Services’ commitment to emergency response and public accountability. This is a great opportunity to grow your skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, especially during fire season when you’ll gain exposure to different teams and regions. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Experience working in an office setting and computerized systems

Preference may be given to candidates with:

  • Training or experience in basic accounting or bookkeeping
  • Experience working in a team environment

Provisos /Willingness statement(s) 

  • To be flexible regarding ongoing changes in responsibilities, assignments and corporate structures
  • To keep current on emerging issues
  • To take in-house training and certification as required
  • To fly in aircraft (fixed wing and rotary) as required
  • To work extended hours; including weekends and be on standby with limited notice in accordance with the preparedness plan
  • To travel and overnight in remote locations where accommodations may vary as required
  • To participate in ICS positions as assigned
  • To work under adverse or stressful conditions, including smoke, extreme heat and mountainous terrain in remote and isolated conditions

About this Position:
This temporary (auxiliary) opportunity starts in approximately June and ends in November 2025, with possibility of recall on a yearly basis. 
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary vacancies.
