Retail Operations, encompassing the three retail business units of Merchandising, Marketing and Store Operations, is responsible for the strategic direction and operations of the 198 BCLIQUOR Stores. The Retail division develops and executes key strategies to drive business/ revenue, creates systems and processes to maximize operational excellence, while upholding BCLDB’s core values of service, relationships, and results. About this role:

The Manager, Marketing Promotions & Operations is responsible for managing the strategy, design, execution, and day-to-day operations related to the marketing processes for multiple in-store marketing programs and corporate social responsibility initiatives across all 198 BCLIQUOR stores. These programs, such as Share A Bear, Dry Grad, Get Home Safe, and other evolving marketing initiatives are aimed to support the success of LDB’s overall marketing strategy.

This Manager directs and leads the development of customized store specific marketing collaterals such as creating unique signages, maintaining brochures, drafting monthly marketing manuals, and any additional materials required for in-store layout. This position focusses on creating scalable and efficient marketing operations that will promote overall sales, leading to increased conversion rate by influencing purchasing decisions at the point of sale within physical BC LIQUOR stores. This position will also develop programs that will enhance cross-promotion opportunities and create more upselling/cross-selling options for the BCLIQUOR stores.

The Manager assists the Director and Senior Manager in ensuring efficient and effective marketing processes along with leading operational projects. This role develops materials, trains new management team members on contract and budget management and ensures well-defined processes including problem-solving and escalation across marketing teams.

Candidates may occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends especially during events.

Position requirements:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related program and a minimum of 3 years of recent, related experience*.

OR

Diploma or a certificate in marketing, business or related program and a minimum of 5 years of recent, related experience*.

*Recent, related experience must have occurred within the last 7 years and must include the following:

  • Experience in retail marketing/advertising/strategy/project management.
  • Experience with in-store marketing programs and working in a retail organization.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience supervising employees in a marketing environment.
