The Team

The Role
In this role, you will provide trauma-informed and culturally sensitive support to children and youth in care, ensuring their legal and financial interests are protected with compassion and care. You’ll create individualized plans tailored to their unique needs, working closely with the children, their families, and support networks, including Indigenous communities, to ensure their voices are heard and respected. With a focus on equity, inclusion, and social justice, you will help guide youth as they transition into adulthood, empowering them to manage their own affairs and achieve brighter futures.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor of Social Work. Degrees in social sciences discipline may be considered (e.g. psychology, sociology, education or related field).
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience providing direct front-line service to clients in a human services environment. At least one (1) year of that experience must involve working with children, youth or families. 
  • Experience in case management to effectively and independently manage a complex caseload. 
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience pertinent to the job may be considered to meet the qualifications.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience in financial management.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities or other diverse groups.

Provisos /Willingness statements

  • May be required to use own vehicle on an expense account basis.
  • Exposure to high stress work environment often dealing with stressful, complex and emotionally charged situations. 
  • Will be subject to a satisfactory reference check and an enhanced security screening check as required by the PGT.
