Position Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Engineering candidate to join the eGL Oracle Project team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in QA testing, particularly in Mainframe and PeopleSoft environments, and will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of complex financial systems. This role requires a strong understanding of both manual and automated testing practices within an Agile framework.

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto (250 Yonge St, Toronto) and/or Client office at a minimum 4 days per week – subject to change at any time.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Perform end-to-end QA testing for Mainframe and PeopleSoft applications.
• Execute and validate batch jobs using JCL and COBOL.
• Analyze job logs, identify errors, and troubleshoot issues.
• Write and execute SQL queries for backend validation (Oracle and DB2).
• Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, and project managers.
• Use tools like JIRA and qTest for test management and defect tracking.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes.
• Support automation efforts using tools such as REXX, Robot Framework, Selenium, or LoadRunner (preferred).
• Ensure compliance with financial business rules and regulatory standards.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Must-Have:
• 7+ years of QA testing experience, with at least 3 years in Mainframe application testing.
• Strong hands-on experience with JCL, COBOL, TSO, ISPF, and batch job execution.
• Proficiency in SQL (select, joins, aggregate functions) and experience with Oracle/DB2 databases.
• Experience in Agile methodology and working with test management tools like JIRA and qTest.
• Ability to write comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Background in the Banking/Finance domain.
Nice-to-Have:
• Familiarity with Python and ability to validate Python-based code.
• Experience with Financial Business Rule Management Systems.
• Exposure to PeopleSoft tools and HELIOS.
• Experience with Jenkins, Git, and QTest.
• Basic knowledge of UNIX/Linux commands and tools like PuTTY.
• Automation experience using REXX, Robot Framework, Selenium, or LoadRunner.
