Position Description:
We are seeking a Test Automation Architect with deep expertise in designing and implementing scalable, maintainable, and high-performing automation solutions for both mobile (iOS/Android) and web applications. This individual will play a critical leadership role within the QA organization—owning the overall automation strategy, influencing best practices, and collaborating across teams to drive quality engineering across the SDLC.
You will work closely with product, development, DevOps, and QA teams to architect automation frameworks, define technical standards, and mentor engineers to elevate automation maturity across the enterprise.

Location: Toronto (Mississauga)
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Define and own the end-to-end test automation architecture for web and mobile platforms (ios/androisd), leveraging tools such as Appium, Selenium WebDriver, and Java.
• Lead the design, development, and scaling of enterprise-grade automation frameworks to support cross-platform test coverage, CI/CD integration, and future scalability.
• Set and enforce automation standards, coding guidelines, and best practices across QA teams.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and product stakeholders to ensure testability and automation readiness in new features and platforms.
• Develop and execute automation scripts for functional, regression, and smoke testing.
• Lead the evaluation and integration of new tools, technologies, and frameworks to improve test automation effectiveness and efficiency.
• Drive the automation roadmap and participate in defining quality KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to QA engineers and automation developers; lead code reviews and foster a culture of quality.
• Work closely with DevOps teams to integrate automation into pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps), including support for parallel execution, headless testing, and reporting.
• Define test data strategies, environment configurations, and cloud device lab usage (e.g., BrowserStack, AWS Device Farm).
• Lead root cause analysis efforts and collaborate with engineering teams to drive resolutions.
• Support strategic QA transformation efforts, such as test acceleration, modernization, and shift-left initiatives.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Must-Have:
• 5+ years of experience in test automation, with a strong background in framework architecture and design.
• Expert-level knowledge of Java, Appium, and Selenium WebDriver.
• Strong knowledge of Java programming, OOPs, and TestNG or JUnit.
• Experience with automation for both Android and iOS platforms.

• Proven experience designing robust, reusable, and scalable automation frameworks from scratch for mobile and web platforms.
• Strong experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Maven/Gradle).
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, service-level testing, and backend automation.
• Knowledge of defect tracking tools like JIRA, TFS, or similar.
• Ability to analyze logs, identify issues, and debug test scripts efficiently.
• Experience working in Agile environments, participating in release planning, backlog grooming, and Scrum ceremonies.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders.
Preferred
• Experience with cloud-based test platforms (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, AWS Device Farm).
• Familiarity with containerization and DevOps practices (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Hands-on experience with test reporting frameworks such as Allure, ExtentReports.
• Exposure to test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, DTM).
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Node.js) and tools like Postman, Curl.
• Prior involvement in QA transformation, modernization, or shift-left initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
