Position Description:
The SAP Basis Consultant is responsible for the technical support, maintenance, and optimization of SAP platforms and applications under their purview. This role demands strong technical expertise in SAP, excellent communication skills, and sound business acumen. The consultant will collaborate closely with SAP functional and business leads, managed services partners, clients, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
-Adhere to governance and guidelines for SAP Basis activities performed internally or by AMS providers, including:
–Executing day-to-day operational tasks
–Monitoring performance, tuning systems, resolving technical issues, and ensuring system stability
–Recommending SAP HANA database sizing and performance improvements
–Managing change flows across SAP environments (development, testing, production)
–Supporting various SAP instances within the ecosystem
–Participating in planning, testing, and executing SAP software updates and upgrades
–Analyzing and planning for SAP security patches and hotfix deployments
–Coordinating periodic kernel, HANA, and component upgrades
–Managing SAP printing subsystems across all instances
–Configuring and tuning monitoring tools
–Supporting SOX compliance and audit-related security reporting
-Maintain and administer SAP Solution Manager systems and workcenters
-Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures clearly and thoroughly
-Collaborate with stakeholders across Program Office, Architecture, Development, and Testing teams
-Build internal SAP Basis capabilities through documentation, training, and knowledge sharing
-Contribute to IT/SAP projects by offering technical guidance and best practices
Qualifications & Experience
-Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
-5ň years of experience in IS&T application support, with expertise in:
-SAP Basis operations
-SAP Transport Management
-Solution Manager administration
-SAP Cloud ALM
-Strong understanding of SAP system architecture, components, and configurations
-Experience with SAP Solution Manager (e.g., CHARM, CSOL, DVM) is an asset
-Familiarity with multiple SAP landscapes and environments
-Hands-on experience with SAP system updates, upgrades, and refreshes
-Knowledge of both ABAP and Java stacks is a plus
-Exposure to SAP ECC, S/4HANA, GTS, SCM, and interface technologies
-Experience with SAP cloud applications (e.g., LBN, IBP, IAS, CI-DS, BTP, ALM) is an asset
-Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment and influence diverse teams

-SAP Enterprise Architect (e.g., P_SAPEA_2023)
Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position due to the nature of the role requiring interaction with national and global clients.
