Your future duties and responsibilities:

– Performs various tasks related to the proper functioning of the new security infrastructure.
– Installs and configures firewalls according to security needs;
– Manages filtering rules (opening/closing ports, specific authorization);
– Performs regular equipment updates to ensure their security and performance;
– Monitors firewall alerts and logs to detect anomalies or intrusion attempts;
– Analyzes firewall-related security incidents and proposes corrective actions;
– Performs regular audits to ensure the proper functioning of firewalls;
– Diagnoses and resolves technical issues quickly in the event of a malfunction;
– Documents interventions and changes made to the monitoring system.
– Participates in security audits by providing the necessary firewall reports;
– Ensures that configurations comply with current standards and regulations. – Propose improvements to strengthen network security;
– Support internal teams and clients;
– Process tickets and alerts from the ticketing system.
– Configure firewall rules on the various Checkpoint blades, such as application control, Identity Protection, IPS, Anti-virus, URL Filtering, and Threat Emulation on the devices to be implemented.
– Set up alerts for the intrusion detection and prevention system on the devices to be implemented.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

– At least 10 years of experience in firewall administration, primarily Checkpoint. Experience working in a SOC is an asset.

Required Technologies
– Proficiency in firewall administration and experience with Checkpoint and Fortinet firewalls
– Good understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, etc.)
– Knowledge of intrusion detection and prevention (IDS/IPS)

Specific Skills/Knowledge Required
– Good communicator;
– Good customer-oriented approach;
– Highly autonomous;
– Quickly integrates into an experienced team;

Assets:
– Knowledge of Checkpoint
– Knowledge of Fortinet

Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position due to the nature of the role requiring interaction with national and global clients.
