The Team
The Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services (YFPS) South Burnaby Region (BOC/IAU) team plays a critical role in supporting regional operations by handling administrative functions in accordance with policies, procedures, and legislation. Comprised of five members, including receptionists, office assistants, and a stenographer, this team collaborates with various professionals such as program managers, psychiatrists, and social workers, while ensuring timely report collation and distribution to the court, which directly supports the service delivery of YFPS.

The Role
The Regional Office Administrator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth financial and administrative operations of the region, directly impacting service delivery and support to clients and staff. Candidates will be excited about the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team, manage key financial functions, and help maintain organized and efficient administrative systems that support the ministry’s mission and objectives.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED).
  • A combination of 5 years clerical/administrative support experience, education and/or training.
  • Experience/training in keyboarding and/or word processing, spreadsheets, and/or other standard computer-based applications (i.e. MS Office Suite–Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat).
  • Records management experience using an electronic case management system (i.e. CARIS, ICM,ARCS/ORCS, etc.).
  • Financial experience including contract administration/ procurement functions.
  • Administrative supervisory experience in an office setting within the last 5 years.

Preference Maybe Given to applicants with one or more of the following:

  • Two (2) years administrative supervisory experience in an office setting within the last 5 years.
  • Dicta-typing experience.
  • Medical Office Assistant and/or Legal Administrative training and experience using medical, psychiatric and psychological terminology.
