Position Description:

This role is hybrid and requires you to be in our downtown Toronto office (250 Yonge Street) 2 times per week – subject to change at any time.

The position is for a Business Analyst within the Group Treasury-Liquidity Risk group. The incumbent is responsible for assisting with and providing efficient and cost-effective technical solutions across a mix of in-house and vendor platforms.
The candidate must be able to interact with numerous internal teams including business, operations, application development, and application support groups.
The incumbent will have at least 5 years of progressive IT/business experience and a strong business background. The individual must be self-driven, think proactively and be able to provide leadership and guidance as the role requires.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Participate in the development and testing of cost effective and robust applications.
Gather requirements and create formal Business Requirements Documents.
Participate in systems implementation and planning.
Manage or work within cross-functional teams to deliver BAU or Project initiatives.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

General qualifications:
– Excellent written and oral communication skills
– Strong analytical skills
– Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
– Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
– Strong ability to work on several concurrent assignments involving various technologies and environments
– Hands-on experience with all phases of SDLC

Must Have:
– Prior experience working in banking or financial institutions
– Knowledge of financial instruments
– Familiarity with the structure of Swift messages and ISO20022 standards
– Experience in handling payment and swift data
– Experience with the account ledger system (Thor) and managing ledger data
– 5+ years of experience with OFSI processes and requirements (LAR Chapter 7 Intraday Liquidity management)
– 5+ years experience with SQL
– 5+ years experience testing and validating (QA)

Desired knowledge:
– Programming experience
– Scripting experience
– Experience with vendor software (Realiti)

Education:
A recognized under-graduate degree in business, computer science, or related discipline.
