Position Description:
CGI is looking for a Backend Software Specialist with expertise in Generative AI to join our growing practices. You will contribute to the design and development of innovative solutions that integrate generative AI capabilities, as part of large-scale, high-impact technology projects, both on-premises and in the cloud.

Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop distributed backend systems incorporating data science and generative AI components
• Participate in the architectural design of solutions involving generative AI models
• Transform machine learning and generative AI prototypes into fully operational backend services
• Develop and optimize data pipelines to feed AI models
• Ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of delivered analytics products
• Collaborate closely with data scientists to operationalize models
• Develop and maintain APIs to integrate generative AI services

Required Profile
• Master’s or PhD in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in backend development, data engineering, and AWS
• Proficiency in Python and C#
• Experience with microservices architecture and REST/GraphQL APIs
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (Lambda, S3, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, RDS)
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools and monitoring within the AWS ecosystem
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French

Specific Competencies in Generative AI
• Experience integrating Large Language Model (LLM) APIs
• Proficiency in prompt engineering and instruction chaining techniques
• Design and deployment of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures
• Expertise with LangChain or similar frameworks for Agentic AI
• Ability to implement guardrails and security mechanisms for AI models
• Experience managing tokens and optimizing LLM usage costs

• AWS certifications (Architect, Developer, DevOps)
• Experience deploying and managing large-scale AI models
• Knowledge of real-time data streaming frameworks
• Deep understanding of NLP techniques and machine learning algorithms
