Position Description:
Focus: Microsoft 365 Migration & Records/Document Management Framework
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Consultant to lead and support the development of robust records and document management structures within a large-scale Microsoft 365 migration initiative. This role is ideal for a professional with deep expertise in information governance, a strong archivist background, and a strategic mindset for aligning records management with business capabilities. The consultant will play a key role in ensuring compliance, data integrity, and operational efficiency across the organization.
Responsibilities
– Lead the integration of records and document management structures into the M365 migration program.
– Design and implement frameworks that align with business capabilities and comply with retention and disposal requirements.
– Collaborate with business units to identify and incorporate existing retention schedules.
– Define and enforce boundaries for unstructured data (personal, business, shared, archival).
– Recommend and validate metadata models to support searchability, compliance, and lifecycle management.
– Partner with IT, Legal, Compliance, Data Privacy, and Records Management teams to ensure cross-functional alignment.
– Provide guidance to migration teams on classification and metadata tagging in line with global data privacy standards.
– Support change management efforts by educating users on new structures, metadata usage, and records management principles.
Qualifications
– Minimum 10 years of experience in records management and information governance.
– Strong archivist profile, ideally with experience in the manufacturing sector.
– In-depth knowledge of international standards (ISO 15489, MoReq).
– Proven experience in designing records/document management structures.
– Hands-on experience with retention schedules, metadata, and classification of unstructured data.
– Practical involvement in migration projects (Google Drive, file shares, legacy repositories, Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online).
– Advanced knowledge of SharePoint Online (information architecture, metadata, permissions, governance).
– Clear understanding of data boundaries: personal, operational, shared/team, and archival.
– Bilingual proficiency in French and English (oral and written).
– Certification in records management (e.g., Certified Records Manager – ICRM).
