The Team
At the Kamloops Law Courts, you’ll join an established and dedicated team of 27 professionals working in administrative roles such as Court Clerks, Registry Technicians, Justices of the Peace, and supervisory staff. As an integrated court registry, we collaborate closely with justice partners, including the Judiciary, Sheriffs, Crown Counsel, Community Corrections, lawyers, and the public, to support the delivery of court services and ensure access to justice. The Role
As a Court Clerk, you will provide critical administrative support to both the Supreme and Provincial Courts, ensuring the smooth operation of court processes. Your responsibilities will include preparing courtrooms and specialized equipment for hearings, managing exhibits, maintaining accurate court files, and interpreting and distributing court documents. You will also operate computerized case tracking systems and deliver exceptional service to the public and court users. This dynamic and engaging role supports access to justice and makes a meaningful impact on the justice system, with occasional overtime or travel required to support circuit court locations.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
- Two (2) years office experience, or
- One (1) year office experience and a minimum of one (1) year education/training in a legal related field
- Experience/training in keyboarding, word processing and other standard computer applications with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Experience with JUSTIN and/or CEIS
- Experience delivering customer service
Provisos
- Must pass enhanced security screening checks

- Must be willing to attend and complete relevant training programs
- May be required to travel, including travel in adverse weather conditions and work in other geographical areas, including circuit court locations
- Must have reliable transportation and/or be willing to travel with others
- May be required to work flexible hours, including varied shifts and overtime on short notice
