Position Description:

Ready to join an outstanding culture that cares about diversity and inclusion, corporate social responsibility and gives the freedom to innovate, influence decisions, and chart an exciting career?

CGI is more than just an IT company; join a team that supports the local community with the ability draw on global best-in-class talent. Benefits include a share purchase program, profit sharing, wellness credits, training and development programs, and flexible work schedules and locations.

Our Edmonton office is seeking a Strategic Client Engagement Lead to join our team in support of a high-profile, long-term public sector program implementing a Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) solution. This individual will co-lead delivery efforts in close collaboration with the client’s Project Manager, and serve as the central integrator across technical, business, and client-facing teams.

This is not a traditional PM role — it’s ideal for a seasoned project leader or consultant with high emotional intelligence, strong organizational acumen, and a proven ability to build trust in complex stakeholder environments. The successful candidate will lead through influence, and play a pivotal role in ensuring alignment, driving delivery excellence, and managing risk, scope, and cost across the program.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Client & Team Coordination
• Partner with the client’s Project Manager to co-lead integrated schedule and delivery planning
• Act as a primary interface between the client PM, internal Technical Lead, Senior Business Analyst, and Account Manager
• Maintain continuous communication with internal and client stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment
• Facilitate daily and ad hoc coordination to keep all teams moving forward

Project Delivery Oversight
• Monitor and update integrated project schedules and cost tracking artifacts
• Lead the development of status reports, coordination of regular meetings, and ongoing progress reviews
• Proactively identify and manage risks and issues, and facilitate mitigation planning
• Coordinate preparation and execution of change requests and scope clarifications

Financial & Strategic Planning
• Support planning and drafting of Statements of Work for future phases
• Collaborate on the creation of budget proposals and estimates for defined scopes of work
• Work with internal leads to ensure resource utilization aligns with budget, timeline, and quality expectations

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 8+ years of project management, delivery leadership, or consulting experience
• Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives in the public sector, ideally involving COTS products
• Deep familiarity with schedule management, budgeting, change management, and risk mitigation
• Prior IT consulting experience with cross-functional delivery teams
• Exposure to Organizational Change Management (OCM) and stakeholder engagement strategies
• Background as a business analyst or in technical delivery is preferred

Preferred Attributes
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills — calm under pressure, adaptable, and empathetic
• Strong organizational and planning skills; adept at translating high-level goals into coordinated team actions
• Demonstrated ability to build long-term client trust through collaboration, transparency, and follow-through
