Position Description:
In this role, you will be responsible for developing microservices-based applications, designing RESTful APIs and ensuring the security and reliability of our backend systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to propose innovative solutions and optimize application performance. Your mastery of containerization, message queuing (Message Queue Kafka) and cloud deployment will be put to good use to improve our application architecture.
We’re looking for a proactive problem-solver who’s passionate about keeping up to date with industry best practices and can contribute to a dynamic, collaborative development environment.
Java concepts, multithreading and object-oriented programming, RESTful API development using Spring Boot, microservices-based architecture, database integration, implementing message-based communication using technologies like Apache Kafka for asynchronous processing, GIT GitHub/BitBucket.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
– Develop and maintain the sector’s REST APIs
– Migrate existing applications to newer technologies
– Adopt DevSecOps practices in software development
– Analyze change requests, assess impacts on current applications, suggest and implement appropriate changes
– Provide operations and maintenance support for business applications
– Document and detail platform specifications
– Produce, document and validate test cases associated with solution development
– Participate in and support integration testing
– Participate in and contribute to code review and documentation of existing and new applications
– Participate, document and validate tests and implementation phases to ensure the quality of modified systems.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
– You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Java application development (API REST)
– You have a bachelor’s degree in software engineering or equivalent work experience
– You’re a programmer who knows Java 11 and +, Springboot, Git, React, SQL
– You are familiar with DevOps practices and the tools Jenkins, Harness, Docker
– You know AWS and Kubernetes
– You’re familiar with the service-oriented approach (API REST, SOAP)
– Bilingual (spoken/written) French and English*.
Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position due to the nature of the role requiring interaction with national and global customers.
( 2 Days per week at customer site – Trois Rivieres (Shawi), Montreal or Levis)
