Position Description:
• Install, configure and maintain all supported (DBMS) software (Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server)
• Oversee resolution of database-related technical issues
• Upgrade existing databases, prepare patch management strategy database based on vendors’ recommendations as approved by the Bank
• Analyze and monitor system performance to identify major performance bottlenecks in the system and identify the impact of administration tasks on core business scenarios • Conduct database security administration to ensure that data is only available to authorized users
Note – The nature of this work will require additional on-call support on a rotational basis which will be compensated.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience with Database Recovery Manager (RMAN) with backup/restore and point in time recovery
• A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience with datapump tool for database/data migration
• Demonstrated knowledge of the concept of Oracle Advanced Security Transparent Data Encryption (TDE)
• Demonstrated experience with SQL, including Azure SQL
• SQL Server and SQL Azure
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) designation
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Oracle DB version 19c
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with SQL Server 2016 or higher
• MS Certified Solutions Associate
• Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator
• Demonstrated knowledge of Oracle Exadata,
• Demonstrated knowledge of DataGuard, RAC
• Demonstrated knowledge of GoldenGate
• Demonstrated MYSQL database Ad
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Onsite in Ottawa, NCR – 3 days per week
Security Clearance: Must be eligible for Secret clearance (10+ years residing in Canada)
No relocation and No travel expenses
Your combined education and work experience demonstrate that you have the competencies and skills for the position. We are ideally seeking candidates with a relevant education (computer science, etc.) and 5+ years of relevant experience.
