Position Description:
Middleware Container Administrator
Global Technical Services (“GTS”) provides infrastructure engineering, project management and administration services for all applications required by the client banking sector worldwide.
GTS’s vision is to provide leading-edge, cost-effective technology services and support based on an infrastructure shared by client companies, requiring adherence to common standards, policies and security parameters. Within GTS, there is a Middleware group (“MDW”) which is responsible for the administration of the middleware platform, and the support and integration of applications using the middleware platform.
What’s your day-to-day job like?
The Container Administrator’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
-Managing the GTS docker platform (UCP and kube) in Paris and the Americas
Provide after-hours and weekend production support and be able to manage on-call alerts.
Provide on-call Follow-the-sun support for Paris and Asia systems.
-Advise and update team standards (internal, GTS, GBSU…).
-Help implement and update team standards (installation, best practices, etc.).
-Contribute to the API factory for provisioning and automating the container lifecycle (including the docker part).
Be process-oriented and able to implement a common set of standards, methods and procedures used for all container work, as well as being able to recommend software and hardware upgrade paths.
Profile
Qualifications:
-At least 3 years’ experience working with and/or Docker/Openshift/k8s.
-Scripting skills (shell, python…)
-Knowledge of the Unix environment
-Fluency in French and English (written and/or spoken).
Customer-oriented, able to work independently while interacting with different teams to complete projects and must be detail-oriented.
-Willing to learn new technologies and methodologies.
-Self-motivated and team player.
-Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
-Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
-Experience working in a 24/7 environment.
-Experience working with distributed teams.
-Experience of operational management.
-Familiar with the ITIL process.
LANGUAGE: French and English
The ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will be required to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the USA.
Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position due to the nature of the role requiring interaction with national and global clients.
