They will lead Agile delivery teams, translating customer needs into actionable user stories and epics1. They are expected to be a domain expert in their line of business, understand market trends and customer segments, drive continuous delivery of business value and operate effectively in a matrixed environment, coordinating across functions.   The Advisor Portal (AP) Product Owner serves as the voice of the customer and is accountable for maximizing product value across a suite of Salesforce-based applications. These include Advisor Portal, Practice Management, Digital Forms 1.0, Talent Management, Corporate Specialist, and Compliance Management. Responsibilities: Market and Customer Knowledge Act as a domain expert, identifying and understanding who their customer is (personas), their needs and drivers, market trends, and the competitive landscape. Continuously connect with their customers, gathering feedback to ensure their Product continues to evolve to meet user needs and desires. Product Vision, Product Roadmap Under the guidance of the Chief Product Owner (CPO), own/evolve the Product Vision, ensuring the vision statement brings together organization objectives, customer needs, and market conditions. Act as decision maker on strategic product direction.  Responsible for synthesizing data from various sources to maintain product agility driving highest value for customers, aligning to organizational direction, and achieving market competitiveness. Under the guidance of the CPO, own/evolve the Product Roadmap (e.g. Now, Next, Later) in collaboration with key stakeholders.  Decide what enhancements are made to the Product, what to retire, and when.  Communicate Product Vision and Product Roadmap on a continuous basis to stakeholders and the full delivery team to ensure alignment. Product Backlog Under the guidance of the CPO, own/manage the Product Backlog (list of items to be worked on such as product enhancements, bug fixes, and technical improvements) making critical decisions about what features, fixes and improvements to build and when. Consult with the CPO, business stakeholders, customers, and technical partners on an ongoing basis to understand organizational priorities, customer needs, and technical dependencies/constraints. Balance trade-offs, considering factors like time, cost, and customer impact. Act as decision maker on the priority of the Product Backlog Items (PBIs) using information gathered from stakeholders, the CPO, customers, and their technical partners, to ensure that the work items that will deliver (or enable) the highest business value are positioned at the top of the backlog and will be worked on next. Work with the delivery team during planning to communicate what PBIs the team should focus on next, and collaborate with them to understand size, complexity of the work, and any constraints. Product Delivery Provide the voice of the customer to the team to help them understand the customer wants, needs and how they are engaging with the Product. Work as a member of the delivery team (Scrum or Kanban) attending team ceremonies. Make themselves available to the team on a daily basis to answer questions and review prototypes/work in progress.
