This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto (250 Yonge Street) and/or Client office (160 Front Street) at a minimum 2 days per week – subject to change at any time.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
1. Guide and mentor a team of agile developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence across the SLDC using Use IDEs like IntelliJ and Eclipse.
2. Conduct regular code and architecture reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables and consistent object-oriented and functional programming techniques.
3. Lead the agile development and automation of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps using tools like Jenkins, GitLab or Azure DevOps, etc.
4. Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure, particularly on Azure.
5. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, ARM Templates, Bicep, etc.
6. Proven hands-on experience in code development. Write optimized Java (JDK 17+ preferred but not less than JDK 11) and unit tests using Mockito and Junit 5. Proficient in multithreading, concurrency and JVM Tuning.
7. Proficient in data structures (e.g. Java Collections, Hashmap, linked lists etc.)
8. Evaluate and implement tools to optimize workflows and infrastructure management.
9. Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues.
10. Create and maintain technical documentation for systems, processes, and workflows.
11. Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders on system performance and project status.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Public Clouds: must have Azure; AWS or Google Cloud (nice to have)
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) Templates, Bicep, Ansible, Chef/Puppet, etc.
• Languages: Python, Java (JDK 17+ preferred but not less than JDK 11), Bash, PowerShell
• CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab or Azure DevOps, etc.
• Containerization: Docker, Azure Kubernetes (AKS)
• Monitoring Tools: Prometheus, Grafana or Datadog
