Position Description:

The Data Lead will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of an organization’s data infrastructure for selected projects. This role requires a balance of strategic leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on experience in data management, analytics, and governance. The Data Lead will collaborate across departments to ensure data is effectively utilized to drive business insights, optimize processes, and support decision-making for selected projects.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Data Strategy and Leadership
• Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization’s goals.
• Lead and mentor the data team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Advocate for data-driven decision-making across the organization, providing thought leadership on data best practices.
Data Management and Architecture
• Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of data architecture and pipelines.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of data systems.
• Partner with IT and other teams to manage data storage, integration, and processing platforms.
Analytics and Insights
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify data needs and deliver actionable insights.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and other visualization tools.
• Drive the adoption of advanced analytics techniques, including machine learning and AI, where applicable.
Data Governance and Compliance
• Establish and enforce data governance policies, ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy and security regulations
• Conduct regular audits and reviews of data practices and systems.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business units to align data initiatives with business objectives.
• Present findings, strategies, and results to senior management and key stakeholders.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data management, analytics, or related roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
Technical Skills
• Proficiency in database systems (SQL, NoSQL), ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
• Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
• Strong understanding of programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
Soft Skills
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering measurable business outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Certifications in data management or analytics (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional, AWS Certified Data Analytics).
• Experience implementing data governance frameworks.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in the data domain.
